Wii Stock Update (One-Stop-Shop for all finds)

Hi guys,

i'm looking to pick up a Wii in either gamestop or Argos and i've been keeping check of this board daily. Its just a bit confusing the way there is multiple threads for current Wii stock etc. (4 availabe in cork, 11 available in achill, etc etc)

So i made a thread where if you find any Wii stock you can post it here so that prospective wii boardsie buyers have a one-stop-shop for new Wii stock! hope it works!

Wii is sold out in the following stores in Dublin City Centre.

Argos - Stephen's green, Ilac Centre, Jervis Street.
Smyths - Jervis Street
HMV - Grafton st and Henry St.
Game - Dawson St, Ilac Centre.
Gamestop - Liffey St, Henry St.

I'm guessing deliveries will come think and fast monday and tuesday mornings. Any tips anybody?

With regards to Argos, check their site just after 10pm, that's when the updates seem to come through. I got mine a little over a week ago by doing this; I had been checking the site regularly all night, and was lucky to get a reservation for Dundrum just after 10.

Apart from that just keep ringing around I guess.

Game in Cork say they'll get more on Monday or Tuesday - though they got some on Saturday and never said!

Gamestop on Henry Street said they are epecting them in either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Smiths on Jervis Street said they wont be getting them until the last Friday of the month.

The only problem with this is that this thread will grow to many pages, and people will try and buy the Wii in the place closest to them, so there is no real indication of where and when and how many of, the consoles are.
So scrolling past this thread doesn't tell you, and reading through perhaps tens of pages of possibly useless information makes it harder.

I think the abruptly posted exact store and amount topics are justified in a way.

And just a general question. You have to pay to reseve Wiis don't you? I know you have to pay to 'preorder' them so is reserving them the same as preordering? Bit of a stupid question I know.

You don't have to pay for a reservation in Argos. When they have them in stock you can reserve it for free, and it just takes that one off their stockfile so nobody else can buy it. They then give you a reservation number which you use at the till to release the stock for sale. The reservations usually only last for a day or two though, so if you do manage to reserve one make sure you get it quickly!

I doubt I'll get a reseveration from Argos though.

I'm hoping to get one from Gamestop this week. Taking it that the stock comes in on Wednesday, do you think it'll be too late to go in for around 2.00pm? I'm in school so it's incredibly hard to get a Wii during the week.

Symths Blanch are sold out till the end of the month but do have laods of Wiimotes, nunchucks, clasic controlers, and copies of Play.

I just rang them there a moment ago. They have 2 left and are just doing first come, first served, so no holding any.

They also said they will be getting in about 6 tomorrow.

Game in Tallaght/Blanch got 30 in.... not too sure which one, my bro just got one!!

I work on kildare st. so only a 2 min walk to dawson st. Picked one up at 1pm, they still had 1 left at that stage . they also said they are getting more in tomorrow so try then.

Just got mine at Dawson Street at 1.30.

HMV on Grafton St. said they'd be getting some in 10 days time.

Correction: They had 2 left. The guy in front of me got the 'last' one and then I got the "Sorry we've none le-- Oh wait, there's one more." one.

Hope this doesn't make people sick, but it was the first time I went looking for a Wii and my picking up one was nothing more than complete fluke! Still trying to find a component cable though. Any ideas where to get one? I was in Manchester for the weekend and there were LOADS of them (the cables) about.

Anybody know of any in Cork yet? Getting a bit pised off with all this chasing - all the stores do is give you a vague answer. I asked last week in Game on Patrick's Street - they said today. They got some in on Saturday, which they never mentioned and they cleared out. They have none today. :mad:

They had a few in Game on Dawson St. earlier, along with remotes. All the actual Wiis that came in were gone and they still had some left. Might be worth a look?

My little bro just got one in Game in Dundrum thanks to me passing on the info from here. Thanks to everyone for the updates as I will get to play a wii tonight. He said they still have a few left. They are not on the shelves you need to ask at the counter.

When was this? Just wondering because if there was 6 left earlier on than they're probably gone by now but if it were only a few minutes ago I can race down now. (So irritating, my brothers actually on his way home from dundrum and i texted him but it says the message has not delivered and I can't ring him!)

Grr such a race to get them...

I wonder when argos in dublin will get more stock in?...

He texted me half an hour ago. He didnt finish school till 3.30 so sometime between 4.00 and 4.30 id say. Good luck I hope you get your hands on one.

Only online now after hous of playing my new Wii! Game in Cork got them in today - not sure how many but they were selling steadily

Yeah it seems you can't reserve it online anymore. Maybe they noticed the large number of not picked up reservations for the Wii?

.....they were saying that about argos last week as well, but i reserved one on Monday, and picked it up no problem

I got mine in Game in Blanch, you need to check when there stock is coming in and go in that day at the time is deliverd (12ish).

i reserved one in argos blanch today at about 1.30 for a delivery tomorow, collection after 2 oclock. There was 7 available for reservation after i reserved mine. So i cancelled my reservation in smyths and got the 25 euro back

Yeah I know...I badly need a Wiimote (with Wii Play preferably) and a nunchuk. Wii Sports gets boring if there's no multiplayer.

try xtra vision celbridge tomorrow for wii remotes. I ordered 5,and 5 of nearly every game available,and 5 classic controllers. whether we get them or not is another story. give them a ring about 12 to see if they came in,because a lot of the time you don't get what you ordered. not sure how far away you are from it, but the number is 01-6279033. Nunchuks weren't available to even order so they must be in very short supply.

just got a call from Smyths. My preordered Wii is in and has to be collected by Sunday evening. Maybe non-collected orders will be on sale on monday?

And maybe there's some available now.

anyone in the wex-waterford region have any luck finding a wii?? gamestop in wex just said they wouldnt have them in for weeks, and i keep checkin argos.ie for both wex and wat but nothing...

honestly cant belive how hard it is to find them, i was sure once crimbo was over they'd re-stock and be easy to pick up!!
