Of course when you say multi-tabling I assume you mean you put books from each subject on differant tables and studied them!

It's odd, the only writing I've had to do in the last six months was to put my name on the board for the cash games in the fitz.

CASE2. This semester is seriously a MAJOR step up from last year innit? So much more to learn etc. Especcially Networks, it's bloody huge. And the weird thing is I feel like I've learned less. Still though, should be fine .. I hope.

this is something you will notice throughout the 4 years, just learn to accept it.

and its not just CASE it happens in, it happens in MOST courses

(i say most, i exclude some arty farty courses where hours decrease after 1st year and there's no quality lab time :P)

Yep fairly screwed. Have 6 and I'm screwed for 2. My own fault though so can't complain. CAIS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭Scráib

Exams don't start until Saturday for me, which isn't so bad. Four to do, I should be ok I think!

Whats worrying me more is that Semester 2 is my final semester - I haven't a clue what I'll be doing come Summer, let alone this time next year! How will I survive outside of DCU!?

If thats CAIS2 I'd guess networks and probability are the 2 of 6 that ur screwed for, im CASE2 and thats my situation.

Just realised on my way home today (when I say a new 07 car!) that I wrote the date as 16/1/06 on my answer book for my test this morning, anyone know of thats likely to cause problems (like marks off for stupidity?)

Well I think I speak for a lot of CA4 here when I say after todays exam it looks like it's a pass degree at best.

Don't worry Rob, we've taken this to Eoin Byrne (Edu & Welfare in the SU) and the cogs have already begun turning to rectify the situation. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,335 ✭✭✭rugbug86

    oooh what happened!!

eh,had my first one today. nice to settle me in. i'd be hoping for at least 70% in it.

tomorrow? not so hopeful! it'll be my downfall.

First exam tomorrow, gah! Why do the registry always put our (Fiontar) exams on a Saturday? Its happened to me every year except first year!

We basically got a really horrible paper, bit more to it but thats sums it up. As simon said su and class reps are trying to sort it out. Go our lovely class reps :)

You're pure evil, Simon. Pure, pure evil.

CASE2 exams haven't been that bad. I didn't go in for Data Structures and Algorithms so I'll have a couple of repeats. Languages + Computability and Probability next week though.

was it CA3 in the sports hall that all stood up bang on 3 and left? Bad exam? or easy?

he was still there at the end.

    complete hilarity.

i had about 4 minutes to spare in my exam and he was still sitting there scratching his head.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,204 ✭✭✭Kenny_D

Haha I cant believe someone stayed in for the entire AI paper. Had all the answers marked off in exactly 15 mins. Next 20 mins involved shading in boxes and checking over answers. Last half hour or so was spent looking at the clock. lol

Does Jane Horgan still teach Probability. If she does, you'll prob be in for a hard exam. She screwed CASE2 last year. Around half the class (about 35 people) had to repeat

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,335 ✭✭✭rugbug86

oh and to keep with the flow of the thread...

i've had 2 exams. 3 mroe to go.

thursdays was legend - best exam ever

yesterdays not so good. i'll be lucky to get 25% to compensate nevermind 40!!

We wish! Surley she couldnt screw us any more than Dr. Shakira looks set to. I've never come anywhere near close to failing an exam before but thats about to change. Only hope is that he's trying to impress with a great pass rate in his class so he goes easy on us.

    Yeah, that was great.

Today, not so much. He just asked kind of obscure stuff and left out a memory addressing thing that a lot of people were banking on (not me, although I was regretting having not covered it going in) because he hinted at it in the last lecture. He always manages to find things that I have no recollection of ever seeing, no other lecturer has that ability! It's wasn't as bad as OS last year though.

Oh well, only UML left now and at the moment it's looking like 5-0.

two done and three to go..

    Digital and systems,
    Probability and stats,
    Analogue and control systems

Two hard ones are done.. reckon it should be alright..
Three left.. lets hope I'm still this upbeat by the end of the week

Nope, our lecturer is Adel Sharkasi. He knows his stuff but continuous assessment went woefully for me and I generally find maths-related stuff very difficult to follow.

"Then wtf are you doing in CA?", you ask...

Finished there yesterday with financial theory, paper was grand, 6 questions answer 4. Stupid thing was about 3 of the questions were on the same topic and had a lot of crossover questions, kept on repeating myself again and again.

Two down, three to go. Next three are in a row, at 9.30 :( I am not a morning person at all at all!!

    Seriously.

Kinda feel prepared for the next two, but the final one I;ve no work done for and am kinda unsure of what excatly to study loike...

    gizmo wrote:

This is only his second year doin the module, so he said he'd base the entire exam paper on last years main and repeat paper.

fair enough, i didnt expect him to give it exactly as last years, but i worked out that about 40 odd marks of the 200 available were last years questions.

he even went so far as to tell us to bring a calculator to the exam for the address translation question, and then didnt even give it on the paper.

i dunno, maybe him and sinclar go out on the beer together or somthin, i dont usually moan about exams as usually its my fault if i fail them but this paper really annoyed me

Heh, I thought Adel was a woeful lecturer, mainly because I couldn't understand him. But his exam was very, very fair. Especcially in comparison to some of the ones Jane Horgan used to give, ouch.

Yeah I wasn't expecting it to be but it was a fair exam - I still did very very bad tho. Ah well at least they're over now and the rest of em were handy enough. Results are out the 15th I think ... should be interesting.

Results are the 15th of Feb!

Ah Jes why would ya say that!!

Hmmm... results the day after the RAG ball.

Results the day of the bungee.

Results the day of the rag trip.

Maybe I won't get my results!!
