Personally I've used Optimum Nutrition and Reflex whey and think they're both great. I have used RAM and MassX from NutritionX which aren't strictly whey on its own but are both very good. RAM is also the best tasting supplement ever!

They do a whey only product as well (ProX I think) which I haven't used but is supposed to be great also.

The ones I would use are EAS, ON and ProX, I have tried one or 2 other but would generally come back to these 3

I like Optimum Nutrition, also, Prolab's strawberry flavour is yummy. To be honest, unless you're a die hard lifter go for one that tastes nice as your a lot more likely to take it as often as necessary.

    Hope this helps

Without doubt Big Whey by NutritionX is by far the best value for the quality you get, good tasting too.
Gotta agree about RAM its gorgeous! I think im addicted to it :-)

Can anyone recommend a shake that causes the least amount of flatulence? I'm using EAS at the mo. Is it just a matter of different horses for courses or are there certain shakes reknowned for their gas making abilities:o

TBH, there isn't a huge difference between most of the products you'd see in a shop (despite what marketing people would like you to believe). Taste and cost are the most important factors for me.

For me EAS is the tastiest but I'm currently using something called Body fortress only because it was on a 2 for 1 offer in Holland and Barrett.

I tried pro x a few months back (coz they were out of eas) tastes allright but its solubility is absoloutely rubbish, I'd have big pink globs of unmixed powder sticking to my shaker and the roof of my mouth (yum  ).

In rides the defender of all things Pro-X :D

O contrare mon amis (i know that's pathetic) anyways. I've been using Pro-X since it came out, although the first batch way back a few years ago was not the may west, I've never had any trouble with the product since then. It's by far the easiest mixing protein i've used - and I've used many.

How are you mixing it and with what?

On a funny note, I had a guy in the shop last week who said the Pro-X powder was choking him at night, he couldn't breath with it - turns out he was eating it with a spoon dry... I kid you not.

I agree that it mixes very well.I tended to find that ON Whey would stick to the spoon and adhere to the sides of the glass whereas Pro-x doesnt. As for eating it with a spoon, maybe the instructions werent printed in braile or something.:D

Personally i have never had an issues with the mixing of Pro X, but i know a few people who have.

For me, the mixing issue for any product can really be solved by two things.

    1) Add just a little bit more water than you have been, even 50 mls extra can normally solve it.

    2) Mix, leave for 2 mins, give another shake and then put it back....makes the world of difference.

Yep same product and our best seller actually!
Possibly a dodgy tub you got? If you are around or near Phibsboro I'll take a look at it for you, if it is a tub that isn't top quality I'll change it here and I'll see the NutritionX lads for a replacement - no problem.

My opinion is that CNP's Pro Peptide is the best protein out there but you pay for that privilege. I'd suggest the unflavoured bulk Whey from suppliers such as myprotein, bulkpowders and whey consortium will be your best bet - if you factor in cost vs quality.
