    Hey,
Sorry the search this forum link doesn't appear to be working. I'm interested in gaining weight. Are there any general fitness books that people recommend which will tell me about

food: What do I need to eat, how much do I need to eat, what the various food types do for my body.

exercise: What exercises are best to increase body weight, how to fit them in with what I'm eating etc.

Essentially an introduction to fitness. I thought I'd ask her before asking google or amazon.

    Cheers,
    Gav

I received Muscle Revolution for Christmas. Its a fantastic book that goes in to good detail about what you should be eating and has lots of workout plans as well as giving you enough information to make your own effective plan.
It does lack images or instructions of the exercises I mentioned so it wouldn't exactly be aimed at a complete beginner but if you have some previous weights experience and know how to navigate through www.exrx.net then its a great purchase.

'Beyond Brawn' by Stuart McRobert is a book anyone who lifts weights to get bigger should read. You can probably find it kicking around the net for free too.
