    Cheers for that Ruggie!!

Might sign up now as no longer belong to a club and the scramble for tickets is going to be insane....

Does anyone out there know if/when tickets will be made available to Leinster season ticket holders? Its my first year as a ST holder and not sure what chances/process for getting International tickets is......

It says that it takes up to 28 days to receive the Members packs - will this affect getting tickets???

Does anyone know how many members there are? Also, how many sro tickets are there?

    Cheers.

Slim to none. At best there might be up to 10 tickets raffled off to ST holders. For the AI games, they did that and told nobody until asked who won!

Well it was a pure lottery...they sold out in about 4 minutes. I showed as reserved at one stage but it went back to the beginning and I was royally screwed after that.

Same story here...I reckon they were gone after about 8.04. Lottery.

So who here from boards managed to snag a ticket in this mornings melée on ticketmaster?

I was one of the lucky few to get one for the French match. The problem is I was supposed to get one for a mate as well, but only managed the one.

If any kind boardsie is selling will they let me know? Obviously its a long shot but if I dont ask I'll never know.

Also, for those in the know, did you have to enter any of the details required, like the password sent in the email or any club details? For me it was just like any other ticketmaster purchase i.e enter the "anti-automated" word and billing information.

Unlucky man, thought I shot myself in the foot by having both the English and French page open, but worked out in the end.

I managed to pick up two tickets to the France match so there definitely were some.

So in other words anyone could have got one. Yes there will be some manual backroom verification but for the sale anyone could have got one - what a bleedin joke.

Only managed the one myself. Oh well. Definitely going on my own!

got nathing, had about 4 ppl trying as well. Didn't even see a box to enter 'croke'? And the forums over there are a disgrace, they should allow messages to appear instantly and we wouldn't have to go to boards. I say some amount of messages have been posted waiting for moderation

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,987 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

Oh well, all gone in about 5minutes.

Well done to all who got tickets...there was obviously plenty of people up early this morning.

Can't help thinking that plenty of non-members will have chanced their arm (those touts are pretty industrious) and how then will they re-distribute those tickets....that and the croke password. All a bit IRFU tbh.

    I'm absolutely furious

I was in work at 07:50 this morning to get on-line at 07:55 so that I could get tickets for one of the home Six Nations games in Croker.

First of all, the site for the England didn't open at 8am as it was supposed to and the page for the French match said that the sale opened at 8am on Tues 9th Jan.

When the England sale finally opened, there was no box to enter a password into (contrary to what the email instructed). The only place to enter any information was the word verification textbox - which, by the way, kept getting it wrong!!! I'm not stupid or blind and I know how to enter an obfuscated word for security purposes. It kept coming back telling me that the word I entered didn't match. After three or four attempts I would get through only to be told that there were no tickets that matched my request.

I thought that the ticket allocation might not have actually been made at this point so I kept trying and kept having to keep re-entering security words that were correct. I also tried the password included in the email with the same result.

At one point I actually did get to a screen that had a ticket allocation for me. I proceeded on the next screen and got told "Sorry, there was problem processing your request". Aaaarrrggghhh!!!!

Back to the start and continued fighting with the security word procedure again. From this point onwards I was either told that no tickets matched my request or I got the same error message.

I had also been trying the French game. The sale also didn't open at 8am. The situation was confused by the wrong date on the page. I thought that the sale was over and had to re-check the email that was sent. At one point, I got through on the French game to the word verification section to experience the same security word problems again and to be told that no tickets matched my request. After that, the French page was back to the "Tickets currently unavailable" page.

The sale on the England page still appeared to be open in that I could select the number of tickets and click "Look for Tickets". However, I kept getting either errors processing my request or no tickets available messages.

Then the page for the French game opened again, and I was able to proceed without error to the "No Tickets Available" page.

At this point, the errors appeared to stop and it was accepting my first security word submission and I was no longer get an error processing my request however the tickets all appear to be gone now.

Stupid f***ing Ticketmaster software. I'd much prefer to have included in a draw like the Heineken Cup Quarter Final last year and not get tickets than to have to fight with crap software at 8am.

It's now 8:45 and I just noticed that if I use Firefox for the French site I get the Sale Not Open page however if I use IE I get the the ticket selection page (but, of course, the tickets are all gone now).

Can it be as simple as that??? Can they really have been that STUPID???
BTW, I've never had problems with Firefox on the TicketMaster site before so it simply wouldn't have occurred to me NOT to use Firefox.

I'm not immensely upset at not getting the tickets (well, maybe a little bit) 'cos I'll get a better view in front of my telly. But I'm really annoyed at the amount of time I've spent fighting with a really badly put together ticket site.

I note from other threads that people seem to have got on ok with the process. Perhaps it was just me. Congrats to those who got tickets.

Ok, rant over. Valium kicking in now. Aaaaaaah.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't anyone go up to the Ticketmaster site and buy tickets? I didn't really see any checks in place that verified that you were a member of the supporters club.

Quick tip, don't have two ticketmaster pages open at once.

I have my confirmation email for the England tickets @ 8:01 AM so im certain it kicked off at 8AM.

Sorry to hear about your hassles, I specifically used IE for this and just went for the one link. One thing of interest is that at no stage was I asked for the supplied password or my membership details which I think is strange.

Yeah it's a bit of a mess alright. What the hell were they thinking with the croke password? I'll bet allot of non-supporters club members DID get tickets.

Managed to get 2 for England game, told me at about 8.04 that all were sold out but kept trying (on two different browsers) and eventually let me in 2/3 mins later.
I had been refreshing like mad just before 8 to try and get in as quick as possible but then they locked me out for too many page refreshes!! Luckily have Firefox installed as well so was able to get on using that, while I deleted cookies etc on IE.

BTW, €5.95 booking charge per ticket, how can they justify that?? They charge €1.95 to about €3 for most events but seem to raise this for high demand/higher value tickets, yet their costs should be static no matter what the event is. I hate ticketmaster and try to avoid them at all costs but they seem to have a monopoly on every event now.

This shouldnt matter, particularly if as in case above you have 2 different browsers open. I used both IE (had both England+France pages open) & Firefox, and eventually got 2 with Firefox.

Because each browser should,as far as I know, have different session cookies etc, Ticketmaster wouldnt be able to identify both as being same user and you can submit a lot more requests.

It worked for me this time (more luck than anything) and in past.

I need to get out more, talking like nerd at this hour of the morning!! :)

I tried unsuccessfully to get tickets this morning. The sale started at 8 for both games but were gone within about 3 min.
In regards to the password, now you have the option to look for supporters club tickets with a password or not with a password. Of course there are no tickets left now anyway.

Totally agree with you there jackbhoy. This argument has been running for a long time now though and with people who actually managed to get tickets this morning so delighted with the fact, they probably were not overly concerned by the additonal charge .... €5.95 per ticket is a joke though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭jackbhoy

Just a quick idea. To avoid all the confusion, frustration and the ridiculous €12 booking fee for tickets why didn't the supporters club just issue tickets by email lottery?
I am sure that the total number of tickets available was relatively small so the resource overhead wouldn't be that significant. It would also mean that everybody in the supporters club would have an equal chance and it wouldn't come down to a mad scramble.
Also, people who don't have broadband are at a huge disadvantage as they can't submit as many requests as people with higher spped lines.
Most of all i'd suggest giving the €12 booking charge to some worthy charity, instead of the complete set of b@st@rds that are ticketmaster:(.

This is not sour grapes as i actually managed to get 2 tickets but I genuinely empathise with those who were unsuccessful as I've been there too!!

A combination perhaps of Firefox, more than one page open, and maybe a few problems on the part of TM.

Oh well. It's not he end of the world. I'll still enjoy the match.

I got 2 tickets for the england match, husband on his own laptop at the same time trying to get French tickets and kept on getting 'display non secure items' dialog box so by the time he got sorted, about 3 min past, all the tickets were gone. feel sorry for my uncle, he was waiting for the password dialog box to load, not realising it wasn't even on the page in the first place so didn't get any tickets - joke!

Managed to get 2 for the england game:D. Started refreshing the page at 7.55 then at 8 on the button the page came up to select seats! I was over the moon!!

Deeply frustrating experience. Maybe we could just queue overnight outside a ticket office somewhere next time!

sent a number of emails asking how were they going to verify membership. In fairness I did get 2 tickets so shouldn't complain,
    but
    1) the 'croke' password wasn't needed
    2) I wasn't asked my membership no. at any stage
    3) used a different email address to the one I use with the IRFU so don't see how they can link me to my account. (have an old address registered with TM)
    4) I assume it is an automatic payment system with ticketmaster, surely once you pay they can't not give the tickets, even if you aren't a member?

Would be interested to know how they will redistribute tickets if people did buy them unfairly.

One thing I'll say for sure, If they don't do a follow up check they will be loosing a number of members in my extended family in the next renewal, we all have registered individually so as we all have a chance to get tickets, if there is no real check then we may as well just have one membership and share the details with each other...

aside from all that.. thing is touts could have paid the money for memberships and could have had just as much access to get tickets so there could still be a load of over priced tickets floating around. except now they will be even more expensive to make up the membership costs.

PS anyone else frustrated with how they are only posting complementary comments on the forum? none of me or my uncles questions or comments have been posted or answered...

Got 2 tickets for the England game, had 2 for France as well but I got kicked off when trying to confirm and decided to try the England match instead and got through first go.

I'm glad I got tickets but I would have preferred to go to the French match.

Ticketmaster always manage to mess up these sales, you'd swear with all the money they make they'd get a decent system to replace whatever crap they have at the moment.
