I don't play on it, but it has to be Stars for all their tourneys etc.

    how about "former" betfair?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

    so very cynical!

perhaps there are just tonnes of people who actually like the $50 giveaways everyone moans about. :)

Lol in fairness PPP have been quite good what with tribeca finally changing payout structures and the $1 Irish Open qualifiers etc.

Having qualified to the PPP Irish Open on the cheap I have no choice but to vote for PP.

those non stop rebuy tourneys with 2000 starting stacks are top drawer

lol at anyone who says Tribeca.

    a) Party died b) their customer support etc sucks c) it wasnt nominated.

Tribeca siftware is terrible but between the fish and the deals at GJP I voted for them expecting Stars to run away with it. I should have waited a bit longer before voting.

    No poker.com?

Lots to be made there, pretty good software... apart from the strange amounts of bad beats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭pok3rplaya

Can someone please explain the categories under which we are voting?

Imean if you look at VC poker, the software is terrible, betting system is terrible, it's just a horrible experience to play there. However it's the fishiest room I've ever played in. But the fishiness factor isn't because of any efforts of VC as a company so why should they deserve accolade for it?

not stars.played a tourney there the other day and disconned about 15 times in the later stages.Anyone else have this problem?

I'd be amazed if this was a fault on Stars side as it is by far the most reliable connection wise imo.

Think of yourself as a judge in the Miss World contest. Who you vote for depends on prettiness, personality, friendliness, hotness, desire for world peace etc. Which of these you consider important depends on you, the judge.

You may be a slightly corrupt judge, swayed by the promise of favours from the contestants ($50 lunchtime freerolls, deposit and reload bonuses etc).

I hope that clarifies it :)

This poll is really really stupid. I actually voted for WPEX, but I would vote for Stars and Full Tilt a long way ahead of every other site mentioned.

    Harsh from you and Ian.

Regular reload bonuses, ability to lodge and withdraw to credit card without having to jump through hoops, micro stakes STTs/MTTs for new players (with just a 10% rake) are all good Tribeca things which a hell of a lot of sites out there don't have. And these are exactly the sort of thing which encourages new customers which are our lifeblood.

So whilst Tribeca has loads of flaws for the 'advanced' player, it (in particular skins like PPP/VC) is perfect for the majority of players starting out.

    All IMHO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

    PokerStars FTW...

Anyone but PPP really, who are all these people that are Voting for PPP?? Seriously WTF  ??

Make this a Public Poll!!! So we can name and shame these people.

EDIT: AHH I see ArmaniJeanss is the culprit... Shame on you... :D

Some people like the Tribeca interface, I don't. Nothing harsh about that, just simply honest.

If it were a PR system then Stars would be first, FT second and I'd have to think on 3rd.

played a freeroll at 365 no probs then went to stars and got the disconns.will give them another go though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

I actually like the Tribeca interface although I think the GJP skin is far more aesthetically pleasing than PPPs. Other PPP annoyances - No rakeback, very scabby bonuses, lots of software issues et cetera. That's why i've played 20k hands there in the past month or so :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,434 ✭✭✭cardshark202

Tribecca may be the fishiest network, but its software sucks balls and it is heavily rigged. Stars, full tilt and party are the top three imo. Stars ftw. Seriously, as Ste said, PPP wtf!?

WTF, the bonuses you've been doing the last month amount to 80% (the VC one) and 50% (PPP) rakeback.

    AJs (defender of Tribeca's honour :) ).

    Victor Chandler - 125k action points = $1000 bonus
Green Joker Poker - 75k or so action points - $500 bonus + rakeback
Paddy Power Poker - 100k action points = $500 bonus

It's pretty evident where the value lies. And btw I'm talking about PPP getting so many votes, not the Tribeca network.

And as Reginald has pointed out, Tribeca is sickly rigged.

you forgot Doyles Room, makes PPP look like a charity

    165000 AP for $550 bonus + rakeback

the only thing in its favour is that the bonus doesn't expire

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭pok3rplaya

Stars, FT and Party ftw then. I don't think there are any other contenders.

Should have been a public poll, then we'd know exactly who was voting for what...and how many PPP employees have registered specifically to vote in the poll...

Voted Stars, re-sizable tables, American players, ability to open as many tables as you like, good tourny structures and plenty of them etc. Pity they're not more generous with bonuses though.

Yeah doubt it can be changed now, can be made public when posting the poll originally under "miscellaneous options" but I'm sure only an Admin could modify it at this stage. Not to worry anyway, its nothing major afterall!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

I like gjp cause they bribed me, and I've played on tribecca so much I've almost forgotten what other sites are like, ps is obviously the best software-wise, it's just their lack of bonus' and rb that puts me off.

Their vip system is practically rakeback, if you play enough it equates to about 25% I think.

Perhaps a supermod can check to see if many votes were cast by recently registered users.
I'd be quite surprised though if PPP were trying to fix such a relatively meaningless poll though.
Its probably just thats its an Irish forum and PPP are the leading Irish poker site (by numbers of users) in Ireland.
Personally I know 5 people in my job who have only ever played on PPP, and aren't particularly aware of there being any other sites out there.

This is absolutely mad, how on earth do PPP have this amount of Votes?? It must be just a load of relatively new lurkers or something.

Even if you want to Vote Tribeca, please choose one of the better value sites on this list, like Doyle's, GJP or VC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,080 ✭✭✭HiCloy

I have just voted for PPP to tie them for the lead. I play feck all online poker (so I probably shouldn't vote in this) but they're better than the, eh, 2 other sites I tried

I can feel the anger swelling in some people!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,835 ✭✭✭karlh

myself, pitboss and a couple of lads from support who are regular posters obviously voted for who pays our wages. besides that, size of the site, the fact its irish etc. seems reason enough to me

i know theres a running rakeback saga etc. but there are tens of thousands of non-disgruntled customers who say ppp is their favourite and im sure more than a few post on here!?

    no biggy.

i'd like to be the first to congratulate pokerstars on their continued success! :D

To be honest, it wouldnt surprise me that PPP have 23 votes in all fairness. Lots and lots of people *do* use them you know!!

In answer to your questions, yes I can check but I dont usually do that unless I really have some reason to believe something bad is going on. Which I dont really...

I don't think there's anything going on either, as I said above, it's probably just relatively new lurkers, or people who don't know much about on-line Poker.

PPP obviously have a huge customer base but the majority of those are the clueless Fish or the maniac Gamblers who have made Tribeca what it is today, anyone who knows even a little about value for money Poker sites, don't play on PPP.

    Now c'mon Stars.
