Well gave up trying to get one here. Went onto ebay.de and ordered one from Germany. 296euro 18euro shipping. Off to get my pre order deposit back from currys tomorrow. Hope to have it befor Xmas.:D

Smyths out near Liffey Valley are getting some on Wednesday to my knowledge. They got some last Friday as well. Only about half of their orders are for those pre-booked but the rest are disapearing. I'm collecting mine on Wednesday.

From the advice on here I headed to Smyths blanch this morn. Arrived at 9.20 am and saw two ladies in the car park with Wii's under their arms. I thought to myself "fck it! :mad: too late Again!!"

Headed in to chance my arm anyway and the lady told me they had a few left that just went on sale this morn.
gotta love boards!!

Yup, there is supposed to be a delivery to all shops that stock the wii this week, but most have them preordered so little or none to the punter, if you can travel try the various provincial Gamestops today and tomorrow, you may be in luck, don't think they'll hold one though, you'l have to get your skates on!

amazon.de have them at the moment (249.99) but won't ship to Ireland only Germany, UK and continental Europe. Items will ship on 21st (or so it said in my basket..) SO if you have a UK address you probably still won't get your hands on it until after Christmas.

Hey said I would put this up here in case it helped anyone, there is a German site http://www.psxchips.de/artikel.php?kategorie=206&id=2211 that is getting them in on Friday (hence you will not get the console till after crimbo day) but price is about 246 + 8 shipping so comes to about 255 € and they do ship to Ireland (unlike Amazon).

Note they say they hope to get them in on Friday but this is not confirmed and not sure how fast they are at shipping so use this info at your own risk. Just hope it might help one or two people.

I was in gamestop Henry street sunday and monday and they sed it mite be some day this week, at this stage im gonna wait till after christmas to get my wii coz all this running and fussing is just too much. I bought some new games for my 360 so they'll keep me goin well into the christmas holidays.

Well Joe is able to get it collected so this one is gone but I might have another so I will let you know if I find out!!

I put my name on nearly every list in the country and so far have gotten 3 wii's out of it for others and then my own one.

I got my Wii about half an hour ago in Gamestop Merchants Quay, Cork. They said they were expecting to sell them all within an hour. I had to go to Game, Patricks street to get Wii play. Game were also selling the Wii but were about to sell out again.

dunno if any of ye checked but the GAME website now says 'limited supplies' in store...it was updated today, so I rang HENRY ST and they had a few, but they sold out around 4pm. So i chanced it and went into DAWSON ST after work around 7pm, and they have a number of Wii's left for general sale, well they are selling them for preorder price, which mean u have to buy a game with the console but im sure nobody will mind...I got Zelda myself, they had a few copies of that...manager was on the phone when i was in thre, telling someone one, they had a good few and if you got there tonite you were garunteed one,which means im sure tehre will be some available first thing in the morning...must say...its pretty cool...

I'm in no rush, I'm just waiting until the middle of January when I can stroll into any shop around me and pick one up

The best console I ever had was my Nintendo 64 so I'll have to look into how you download classic games from this console and the SNES. Realy don't know much about this option

I got mine yesterday from Smyths.

You download the old games from the store option on the wii once you're connected to the internet (via wifi or through one of the USB add ons). They're a bit pricey in my opinion currently so choose wisely when buying. The selection is also a little thin at the moment.

Console is amazing though. I haven't owned a console since the N64, and this thing has me excited about playing games again.

Was in smyths after work yesterday(wed), they said they expected them in today or tomorrow(thurs or fri). I just got a call from them 11am or thereabouts saying they have my wii in stock. Presumably there will be a good few for general sale also if i put my name down yesterday and i have one already.

Smyths toystore, tallaght village(belgard road, whatever youd call it). Go now, be quick!
