Ive been on cyclone and i find it works great but a friend of mine wants to take ZMA which increases testosterone but he thinks that he doesnt need to excercise. I think that this is quite dangerous but i dont know the facts. Anyone out there know the risks involved or are there none ? thanks

There are no risks with taking extra zinc, though there are risks to not exercising, getting fat being the main one

ZMA contains Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Zinc and is designed to help increase your natural testosterone levels. It isn't an anabolic steroid

Look up Tribulus Terrestris on the net. I take it. I think it's good. It (claims to) increase(s) testosterone. I DID notice a difference when I started taking it. Some good, some bad, but I'm still taking it...

Animal Stak 2 and any ZMA product will do the job.

I didnt say that it was anything to do with a steroid.......I said that depending on his age it mightnt be any use at all

I imagine it's as simple as picking up a copy of Flex down the local newsagents and reading something like "testerone increase muscle mass" but out skinny friend is still too lazy to actually do anything about it so will just take ZMA rather than actually try.

Ya you did. You said "taking testosterone..."

    ZMA is not testosterone.
    Test is an anabolic steroid.

ZMA is just a compound of minerals that help increase your natural test production. It is not illegal/banned in any way.

Trib is banned is ireland afaik. Its no good anyway.

Zma is the real deal though

Trib is not banned, it's just a medicine, so you need a script. As such, if you want Trib you need to go to you doctor, pay him 50 quid and convince him to give you a script, then go to the chemist and pay a heavily inflated price for your Tribulus.

Alternatively you can buy zma from www.t-nation.com or pumpkin seed oil from the health food shop. :)

Just so happens I stumbled on an article about increasing testosterone levels for over 25s (25 in a few months  ) a few weeks ago. Now I 've been taking Zinc for the last few months for cold and flu season, if I was to supplement that with magnesium and my usual multivit would that have the same effect as that ZMA? If so what quantities should I be taking (I currently take the holland and barrett zinc tabs, 2 a day)

    thanks

You'll get the same effect from normal chelated zinc. The advantge to zma is its better absorbed due to the synergism between the minerals and it helps you get a deeper sleep.

Can anyone point me to some kind of total n00b's guide to increasing one's testosterone levels? I really want to do that and plan on doing so with excercise but I'm not sure how much and I'm not yet sure if I'm out to bulk or cut, though. Kind of a little bit of both. Mostly cut, TBH. Can anyone give me (or tell me of somewhere that gives) suggestions for increasing test. and maybe give all known negative/side effects of said method of increasing test.?? Thanks much!!

    How old are ya scouser?

Increasing your test can be quite dangerous if ya don't know what your doing!! Unless your in your 40s+ or training daily there is no point in doing this. Any substance that directly increases testosterone (i.e. steroids) are EXTREMELY bad in the long term while supplements which aid your body at creating its own testosterone are realatively safe, they are only needed if your levels are low due to intense training, sickness or age. Just to let ya know that there is a definite link between aggression and testosterone levels in males. It is not certain if agro is caused by test or the other way round but there is a link.
ZMA is relatively safe as it is just a multi vitamin really, i've heard of no real side effects other than faster recovery and a deeper sleep, correct me if i'm wrong. I'm starting ZMA in Jan.

    Good luck with the training!!!!!!

why exactly do you want to increase your test levels, I would have to say that if you don't even know if you want to be cutting or bulking chances are that you don't need to be trying to increase your test levels. What is your diet like and what is your workout plan like, cause unless these are pretty much up to scartch, the increased test levels won't be that benefical to you

Anyone who is thinking of increasing there test should more than likely just get some bloods done? See what your levels are actually at before you decide you need to do it or not maybe?

As JSB was saying, it's also best to have some kind of goal in mind.

Where do ya go to get those tests done??

Your doctor should be able to take care of it for you.

Right, I did a bit of homework on 'homemade' ZMA: One normally needs 30mg of zinc and 450mg of magnesium daily which is 2x of each for the holland and barrett supplements. I'll report back in about 6 weeks to tell you all if I've turned into an arrogant, sex crazed monster (well, even more of an arrogant sex crazed monster)

I'm assuming that my multi-vitamins and the extra B vitamins I get from protien shakes will take care of that - but maybe I'm wrong

The zinc and magnesium are dirt cheap, I get them in H&B on their 2 for 1 offer - works out at about 14 quid for 3 months supply

No its the ratios that are best for absorbtion, any zinc supplement will give you a test boost if your defficent in it
