Just had a phone call from someone I know working in Ken Blacks toys in portlaoise. Part of the Smyths groups.

They gots a stock of Wiis this morning.

And it begins.....

Christ, decided to ring Gamestop in Swords out of curiousity and after a fella and a girl telling me to ring back Thursday to verify if there were enough Wii's on Friday... some fella very bluntly tells me they won't have any until after Christmas. This is taking the piss.

I rang Virgin this morning after been told on monday to ring back...........they said they haven't recieved their stock yet. Maybe next week............do I believe them??

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking, was gonna head over to the few Smyths around here (Liffey Valley, Tallaght, Blanchardstown) but none of them EVER answer their phone and I get the feeling that at 10:30am, other people could've had the same idea already and they're already gone.

Called Gamestop Ennis this morning before I saw this thread. Earlier this week he had told me possibly 12pm on Friday. But this morning it didn't seem like they'll get a delivery this week.

Sorry Cormie, wont be able to help you out. I'm not actually there at the moment. Working in Dublin. Sent in my mother, as she only lives a few miles from Portlaoise town and I cant really ask her to get 3 as she already has 2 to get ( if she can). Hope you get sorted soon.

Not a hoax. My mum got me 1 and my brothers in law got them too.

I'll scan the receipt this evening and post it if necessary!

The store hadn't a clue when\if they were coming in though. I believe they only had 3 on the launch day.

There are still some genuine people out there ...

Still waiting to hear back from my mother, if theres any left. Mullingar? Could certainly be worth a shot. Especially seeing as half the adults in town dont know its there or they are working till lunchtime and all the kids are in school. You'd be over in 45 minutes or so. Its just a question of stocks. Ring them and see?

In keeping with the good will of the season, I just wandered into Smyths on Jervis street and they don't have any. Nor do they (apparently) think they will have anymore before christmas.

Thats it now, I've done enough good deeds for today.

The main An Post sorting office for the country is in Portlaoise, but I wouldnt have imagined they'd be posted out? It's kinda funny that I scoured Dublin in search of one for the past week after both my pre-orders and my queuing at Argos from 5am fell through but my mother could just walk in and buy one without hassle in Portlaoise of all places.

Yup - rang them, asked could I pay over the phone and come in to collect. They said they wouldn't, that its first come first served into the shop.

Virgin said they hope tomorrow but dont know. The DS's arrived today and they thought they would be with them. It will be first come when they arrive so just keep phoning.

So best bet will be Smyths or Virgin first thing tomorrow.

Time for a nap now so I can be up early tomorrow.
