I was in Gamestop on Henry street yesterday and I have been informed that there are expecting a shipment of Wiis sometime in the early evening!

they will go on sale the second the arrive and its frist come first served!

Hmm, mixed reports. A girl answered and said they had none now (naturally enough, just thought I'd ask anyway:)) and when I mentioned the Henry St. branch getting a delivery she sort of giggled and said "I doubt it".. so I then asked if they were gettin any deliveries and I mentioned that I heard they were gettin one on Friday and she said that until the delivery comes they wouldn't really know. But then I asked if I should ring back tomorrow to check and she said that at around 1pm they'd probably know. Uggghh.. take what information you can out of that. :P

Phoned Virgin and they said the next shipment hasnt been recived in Europe yet so where are these consoles coming from for Gamestop?

I am getting well and truly sick of this. Why is it such a mistery when the next shipment will arive. I am driving the wife and kids mad with this endless search.

Tell me about it dts. When you really think about it, wtf is so complicated about when a delivery is due.. seriously?! With the week nearing it's end and deliveries allegedly due for Friday, how come nobody knows anything about them?! Deliveries don't just arrive out of the blue .. this is so dumb.

I was told at best some time thursday afternoon more likly to be friday. Who knows?

I dont know, he will only know when they are arriving a few hours before hand, and he wont be telling customers the time either for security reasons I'd imagine.

Seems fair. But when do we start queuing? If it was possible to even narrow it down to the day or morning/afternoon/evening etc because it could be a complete waste of time if you stand there for 3 days before one comes in. Especially if its like the last time when only 2 arrive and they're quickly pinched by the staff.

game henry st just told me wii's wouldn't be available to people other than pre-orders til mid january

just picked up wiiplay in gamestop if anyone is lookuing for it!

Gamestop on Liffey street told me this morning that a delivery of 26 consoles were due in today for definate. Estimating between 12 and 1pm. Around the time of this post. Pre-orders only until tomorrow, any uncollected consoles are being sold from tommorow morning. But that could be a load of ****, cos they're just going on what they were told from some warehouse guy.

Don't rely on what I said. I was told on monday it would be friday, yesterday I was told thursday and this morning I was told they'd be in after lunch. But they were sure that it was pre-orders only. Either way, you can't believe anything cos every store says something different.

Gamestop in Galway have a shipment coming in, got a call this morning, I went in last friday with no pre book to see if there were any and they said they might have some next week, they'll call me and its first come first serve so they took my number. He rings me this morning and says he'll have one for me on Friday, but can only keep it for friday.

Just got off the phone to Gamestop in the Merchant's Quay Shopping cntr, they're saying Friday lunch time first come first serve. Douglas and Blackpool had no news.

just checked with gamestop Liffey street, henry street, HMV henry street and game henry street.

both gamestop's said early next week, HMV said maybe before christmas and Game said check www.game.co.uk/wii for regular updates.

This is a total nightmare.

I just rang Gamestop Bray where I am number 13 on the list...he said that they will be arriving in the warehouse next week so they wont get one til after that, which could be the week after

Smyths in waterford initially told me that you cant pre-order and that they would be in today or tomorrow but for security couldnt tell me exactly when. Called in there just a few minutes ago and now they are saying its friday and you could have pre-booked but its too late now. He also said theres no point coming in friday cause i wont get one.
He was an ole misery anyway - couldnt crack a smile to save his life!

I was in Game, Smyths, HMV and Virgin in Blanch, all 4 stores told me that no chance of a Wii till January unless you have a preorder with no new preorders being taken.

As you may have noticed, we've got the Wii here now. Costing just (???) £179, the Wii could bring you more laughs than saying "homo eretcus" at the Christmas dinner table. Retailers didn't get anywhere near as many as they wanted to, but they were still able to fill around 75% of pre-orders.

According to some rather reputable contacts of mine (read: I spoke to a tramp outside the closed down Pink Planet last night) re-stockings will be occuring every Monday and Thursday and Nintendo will certainly fulfill all pre-orders before Christmas.

Talked to Virgin tonight and he said phone in the morning, it will be Thursday or Friday and its first come first served.

I am still hopeing that this will mean that my pre order will be in at Currys.

i reckon they are all holding them back ot create a stir. 4 different people told me that.
3 from game and one from virgin, each pretty much said they thought theat they were holding them back.

I'm not even asking any more. I'm just going to go into town on the 22nd, I probably won't be able to move for wiis.

Or else, I'm going to have to go with Plan B, which is handing the significant other a sample jar on Xmas morning, and then saying '..Oooooh, you meant a WII!'

Before the prices went wild? The purpose of ebaying them was for crazy prices, i can be 99% certain that every ending auction/ buy it now price was absolutely ridiculous.

Im sure a lot of the people that payed twice the price or more will regret it in the coming days or weeks when they get bored of the showcase games.


By the way komplett are charging €275 for Wii's expected on the 31st of january

I bought mine from an ebay powerseller who had a Nintendo allocation as opposed to purchasing one at an inflated price from a profiteering member of the public

The only premium I paid was €30 for courier fees.
