Yup. I bought from them before and they are good and reliable.;)

the 3700's look good value :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,763 ✭✭✭g5hn710m4xpdwy

What do you think of the 4300?
I might get a few 3300's because they are cheaper , I can charge up a few* and go out for a long bash

*This so called 'few' would take ages to put together:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

Get 4300,s and castle creations brushless motors, go on!

4300's are deffo the way to go ;)

3,3's are good value at that price and last pretty good as well.

What do you mean "This so called few would take ages to put together" ??

I was looking at the "Stick Packs" pre-made.

Are you talking about getting loose cells and assembling them yourself?

    If so.
Keep your eyes peeled on Ebay now as all the Top drivers will be upgrading from 3700's to 4200's or 4300's and will be selling off the old ones which would be perfect for you. I have seen them being sold for very low prices.
I have bought two of these sets myself and they are top qual.

Personally I would suggest that you go sor the saddle pack sets , Much better performance from them.
Also, Eventually Cells go out of Balance and when that happens with a Saddle Pack you can balance them/Equalise them again and make them as good as new again.
With the Stick Packs this is not possible.
So basically what I am saying is with a stick pack after several charges you will notice the power dying out on them and think to yourself that they are faulty or something.

With the Saddle packs you can go and equalise them and have loads of fun.. :D

I will look out for the saddle packs :D
    Thanks

What I ment by 'few' was have say 4 or 5 3300mAh packs or something like that;)

    Class.
I forgot to ask you how it is going for you?

you using the MT16% in it?
I think you will find it has plenty of power with that stuff.

How did you crash the Revo when you were running it in? Bad driving ??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,763 ✭✭✭g5hn710m4xpdwy

haha a crash on run in... Tis a first to me :) congrats :D

MY rustler is grand... about to go threw my 5th pack
    Crashs:
    Curb*1
    Car wheel*3
    Pillar*2

No damage as of yet :D
But screws for teh motor were not tight enough and the motor slipped a bit yesturday and the gear mesh went. I thought I stripped a gear:o

Ahh yeah she's going grand! Wheelie's so easy espically on the grass.
Im using MT16 which is still good. I have the resonator on and seams to give alot of low end power.
.....and for the crash, someone asked "how fast does it go" so I turned around and BANG straight under a parked car, looked broken but on closer examination it was a small fix. Had nothing to do with bad driving:p

It started up not a bother, that was nice. Fun would be an understatement:D
I don't have a video recorder but my friend have a decent enough video cmaera on his phone so hopefully we can get a few up. I have to dig out the camera somewhere and get a few pictures.

With the Stick Packs this is not possible....

Not correct - if you are referring to nicad or nimh batteries.

If you have a stick pack with 5 cells at 95% full and one cell at 90% full.
Then you charge so the 5 cells are now 100% full, and the uneven cell is now 95% full.

Just put your pack on a trickle charge. The extra energy going into the already full cells spills - radiates out as gentle heat (they get a tad warm) into the air and while this is happening the last cell catches up.
So all you have to do to equalise a conventional pack is to put it on trickle charge for a period of time.
At a trickle charge no harm will come to the other batteries in the pack.

This does not apply to lipoly batteries.

    OTOH
If there is an unbalanced cell which repeatedly becomes unbalanced after short use, then this cell is degraded and cannot take a 100% charge ... the bad cell must be removed and a good cell of similar capacity to the others used to replace the dud cell.
In this case a saddle pack is the same difficulty as an inline pack to pull out and replace a bad cell. Either way it takes soldering skills and 15-30 minutes time.

I better not say anymore then as I seem to be wrong.
All I do know is that anyone in our club that races and uses Stick pack's (New or used) can say goodbye to any hope of winning a race.. They are absolute rubbish compared to the race packs that we use.

So I will leave it up to himself if he wants to waste his money on stick packs or spend it wisely on saddle packs. ;)
