i had fairly active lifestyle for the past few of years. Played golf very seriously, trained with the provincial team for 5 months, were we did alot of stretching and cardio.
i tore cartilage in my knee last march and recently had surgery. Over the last 8 months or so ive put on about 2 stone, from not training. Ive joined the gym a few week's ago and they gave me a full fitness programme, consisting of cardio, weights, stretching etc. and i go 4-5 a week.
i bought some "big whey" on fitnessireland.ie in the intention of losing body fat and gain muscle. im not quiet sure as to when to take, in the morning, before work out, after workout to lose weight..?
some help would be greatly appreciated:)

Big Whey is just a Whey Protein supplement and not a diet product alone. It should fit in as part of your exercise programme to lose weight.
You should use it to fit around your diet and use to supplement where your missing some protein during the day. If you are only using whey protein you can take it in the morning with breakfast, after you train and before bed.
Each scoops contains 22g of whey.
You could post up your diet and training plan for us to give proper advice

May I ask were you waitin long on your delivery from FI?

ordered it on Sunday evening and got it Wednesday morning, free delivery!

8am- 3 weekabiks or porridge, wholegrain toast and tea.

11am- a couple of slices of fruit soda. piece of fruit.

1pm- brownbread sandwiches with a mixture of tuna, cheese and sweetcorn or ham and cheese and a bowl of vegetable soup.

5pm- couple more sandwiches and fruit, cereal bar.

    7.30pm- go to the gym

9.30pm- dinner, meat, potatoes and veg usually..

i'd usually drink a litter of water a day, and maybe two while working out.

In my opinion you are eating far too many carbs and I would try and cut down on this, instead of having bread at lunchs try have salads instead, also at 5pm get rid of the cereal bar and put in some nuts and seeds instead

8am- 3 weekabiks or porridge, 2 rings of pineapple, 1 heaped scoop of Big Whey. Some Flax seed oil and Multi Vit.

    11am- 1 banana and some mixed nuts/seeds.

1pm- Grilled chicken salad with advacado .

5pm- Salmon steak/turkey breast with brown rice and green veg.

7.30pm- go to the gym - 1 heaped scoop of Big Whey after training

9.30pm- If you have to eat now I would suggest a boiled egg no carbs

Bed time - 1 heaped scoop of big whey

drink 2 litter of water a day, minimum.

See amended diet above, however to h ave it opitmal post up your weight etc

the food sounds good but the times doesn't suit.

im out of the house by 8.30am and not back until 7.00ish.
i wouldn't think it would be a good thing to have a meal before training..?

Well I usually eat about an hour before going to the gym. As dragan has often pointed out on the boards, you eat when you need to, depending on what activities are happening during the day. (I have been listening dragan:D )

They are the times you picked from your original post.

I suggest you have a look at the stickies for advice on times to eat and what kind of training you do.
