Your Wii Status?

What's your status right now on terms of getting your hands on the console?
I have finally had my mind set to rest.I have the console in my room right now this second.And I will be picking up my games and accessories tomorrow.
My local Xtra Vision rang me today to say they had my console I then walked down and spoke to my friend who gave it to me there and then.

Not much point really as I have no games for it yet.
They only had need for speed, the rest of their games are coming tomorrow.
Anyway I rang game on Henry street and asked since I already have a Wii could I still come in and pick up the games and accessories I booked and they said yeah no problem.

So I'm sorted at long last:rolleyes:

Better safe than sorry.I mean what if you eventually get a console and then can't get the games you want anywhere?That would suck.

3 prebooked and only getting in two consoles tomorrow morning.

Have been told that I can't have one, customers get first preference.

I don't mind, I'll get mine next friday on the second shipment. It gives me a week to think about what game to get.

Monster 4x4 comes with a free steering wheel attachment, I was checking it out today, looks good.

Oh well.

Are they taking pre-orders for second shipments anywhere, or is there still not enough to fill original pre-orders?

I'd imagine a lot of the second shipments should be handed over to staff who got their pre-orders cancelled!

I heard orders for XV come in on Tuesday Thursday and Friday.(Correct me if I'm wrong)So there is a possibility you may get one sooner:)

Although you don't have much chance of getting more units than you have pre-books.:(

Getting mine at work at midnight. Wii Play for multiplayer goodness and Zelda for me.

And I only have one Wiimote so my girlfriend looks at me evilly when I play it alone.....:rolleyes:

So tomorrow my use of the console will really start.

funny one for me so far (if you think being misinformed is funny) , i paid for mine upfront with a chain similar to dixons, and was assured of a console on launch day.
I rang em yesterday to confirm it, and they say 'sorry, only got ten in and theres 10 people before you that pre paid', right i says and this evening went down to get a refund and take my chances in the crush tomorrow morning, but when i talked to the sales assistant in the shop she told me to wait while she checked it, came back and told me there was one in the storeroom with my name on it...so....still a little freaked that it's all a big mistake ,but we'll see tomorrow i guess.

No Wii!! Can't afford one tbh but maybe me mam and dad will surprise me on Xmas Day with a Wii, 2remotes, 2 nuncheks, 2 controllers, sensor bar, Zelda......:D haha

Just out of interest, are they going to restock for Christmas and have them in shops for anyone to walk in and buy?

Got the call from Smiths myself. Got mine waiting for me with Zelda and Wii Play. Only question now is whether to get Monkey Ball or a classic controller and some points... opinions?

I bought mine from a platinum Ebay seller in the UK. I prepaid two weeks ago.

The dispatch email hit my inbox two hours ago.

I should be enjoying Wii goodness sometime next week!!!

My LOZTP, Wii Play, extra nunchuck, Rayman and Marvel should be dribbling through the mailbox during the next few days

I have a Gamecube with a Wavebird and 3 wired controllers so won't be going for the classic controller. The shape doesn't appeal to me tbh. Looks a lot less comfortable than the Cube ones.

Apparently the virtual console games only work with the Classic Controller.
Not the GameCube ones.:(

They will be available, I was in Smyths yesterday and they had tons of classic controllers, nun-chucks and wii-motes behind the counter.

My Wii is also waiting for me in GAME Henry Street, as I've mentioned on another thread. I'll be up bright and early tomorrow, very early, as I'm coming in from effing Meath to pick it up at 7a.m. or thereabouts. Can't wait.

Glad to hear so many people are getting sorted after so much hassle this week. I can't believe how badly the retailers have handled pre-orders.

Hope I get mine tomorrow. I have a pre order with Currys. Phoned today and they said they think they will have them tomorrow. They couldnt give me a time. This isnt giving me the warm fussy feeling I would have liked. I will have to go down as they never answer the phone.
Have monky ball and rayman orderd through cdwow so dont know when they will arive. I was going to just wait and see if anything else caught my eye when I was picking the console up.

The cube controller WILL work with Virtual Console games, and in Bomberman '93 you can even use a combination of cube controllers and classics to play up to 5 player bomberman!

I'm kinda torn between getting a classic controller or getting a second nunchuck (for my Wii Play controller) myself...

All you people that are getting the Wii, put up some reviews of the games you buy also.

Keep them unbiased! It's to help me decide what to get with mine, I've a whole week to ponder.

I have always been a playstation nut. Never played any of the zelda games. Went for the wii after seeing the advert for rayman.

I hope that you make the decision at some stage to acquire Twilight Princess. I've not yet met a person who doesn't love Zelda after having a go.

Hey, call me a nut-bar if you like, but despite all their faults, GAME got me my console as promised for the launch. I don't mind going in to Dublin, there'll be more atmosphere there tomorrow morning than in Smyths Drogheda, imo.

Basically if the US shelves aren't stocked up by the time I get there, I'm ****ed. Though I should be in with a chance if I leg it around after Christmas Day. Might pick up a PS3 aswell.

I'll get Twilight Princess, Metal Slug Anthology and possibly the new Trauma Center.

So i'll prob be getting mine after christmas at some point.

A review of Zelda will be kind of hard with only owning it tomorrow, and finishing it over the course of a week ain't happening with work and all funkyflea.
But I'll give you a gloss over summary of what I have done so far.
And depending on whether I get Wii Play or COD3 I'll stick that up also.

but just found somewhere with 5 avaialable for first come first served deffo!
