    Guys,
Due to the poor weather I have started to use the exercise bike at home, a standard enough bike, I think it is air wheel or someit like that.

Anyway, I would have a steady enough level of fitness as I have been training since last Feb for our summer soccer season, only finished about 8 weeks ago.

So I am not sure if this bike is recording right but last nite I went on the bike for the duration of the United match, 45 minutes, a water break, then another 45 minutes.

I was clipping along nicely for the duration but I think the KM's cycled must be fubar.
So what would you expect to travel in that 90 minutes on one of these bikes?

    Thanks

I don't know how long is a peace of string? it could be anything from around 15Km-45km if not more depending on the speed you where going at. Do you have an ordinary bike with computer to tell you what speed you would roughly go at and where you matching that pace, if not it could be any distance that you could have traveled

There is a km/h alright but I forgot to even check that!! DOH!.
It is saying that I did 50km in the 90 minutes which seems a bit mental to be honest, I do admit that I was on one of the lowest gear but that seems a bit much

50km in 90mins is average 33km per hour. Seems right, on my normal bike I can get up to 55km/hr going full belt on a good straight. Normal cruising would be about 35km/hr.
Now on normal roads you would not do 50km in 90mins, thats what might be putting you off. On normal road in a car or a bike your average time is dramatically reduced due to the traffic lights, and crazy other goings on!

Impossible to answer. When I'm on a cut I do a 45min bike session every morning. It's a very leisurely pace with little resistance keeping my heart around 130 bpm. I would cover between 25 & 26km in this time.

So it wouldn't be too hard to clock up 50km at all in 90 min.

would the resistance level not be the most important factor here? Is there a calorie counter on the bike (not very effective for measuring your calorie use, but it'll tell you the amount of power needed to move the wheel the distance at that resistance level).

Its a bit sh*Te to be honest Glenboy, never taken any heed of the cal counter, must have a gander.
I might invest in a row instead, I suspect it would be better for keeping fit and the weight off for the winter months

    Something like this:

TBH the calorie counter and mileometer are both simply guides. They just output figures, try and beat the figure your next go, doesnt matter if it is only 80% accurate, set a goal and try and beat it, just go as fast as you can. It is like body fat calipers, different formulas give me BF% of 8% up to 16%, I know I am "26mm" and that is all that matters, if I go up or down I know what is happening. If your calorie or mile figures do the same you also know you are doing well or worse.
