What the future holds maybe is when he said you can take your DAB abroad but you cannot use it. Your DRM radio and you can.

DRM appears to me at present to be Shortwave stations going digital.

Of course there are satellite portable radios for around $250 and a monthly subscription of $10. Another source of digital radio.
