What about getting the wireless Skype phone from www.skype.com? It's €139 and includes a free Fon wireless router. It works independently of a Mac or PC, so you don't even need to have your computer on to use it.

Sounds like the ticket to me.

YEp. All the USB models are a waste of money, they do nothing that a headset costing 4 Euro does. YOu want one that works without the computer.
SMC, Linksys, UTstarcom and Netgear I think all have true WiFi Skype handset that use a regular WiFI connection to Internet.
