R.A.M -NutritionX

    Hello folks,

From what i have read on this board over the last 7/8 months it seems that the nutritionX brand seems to be highly regarded, encouraged by this i purchased some pro-X and have been using it for about 7 weeks now, i have seen similar gains as with other products and i was happy,

However i was looking into buying some R.A.M as people had good things to say about it and when i looked at the nutritional info on the container i was very worried, not with the ingredients per se, but with the complete inconsistancy in the breakdown, the per 100g does not match up with the per serving at all, from what i remember (only looked at it in the health shop) it had very high sugared carbs per 100g but very low per serving, this is totally misleading and worrying, the labelling is a clear mistake, but in my opinion this calls into question the quality of this outfit/brand (nutritionX). As I have allready said i was reasonably happy with the pro-X, but unless i get some good reason why, i dont think i'll go with this brand again.

I'm really very mad as i dont know how they can get away with selling something, when they dont take care of detailing exactly whats in the thing and keeping controlled records of what it says on there products, i mean gods knows whats in it if they dont take care of telling people, if this was a conventional food product they should have to withdraw their product to rectify thier mistake.

Dont mean to rant or insult people here, just would like hear what people think, am i over exaggerating my concern?

    thanks,
    Dex

i also remember another inconsitancy a few months back detailed on this board something about fat content in mg as opposed to g, I remember thinking this was a small error but it looks like its not isolated?

taken from a post by Jon who sells the stuff, I will look at my container when i get home

    Per 100g per, 106g serving (3scoops)
    Energy Kcals 377.5, 400.5

    Energy KJ 1578, 1672.7

    Protein 30g, 31.8g
    Dry base

    Carbs 61g, 64.7g (sugars 60.5g, 64.13g)

    Fat 1.55g, 1.64g of which Saturates .5g, .53g

    Fibre 1g, 1.06g

    Sodium 150mg, 159mg

    OTHER KEY INGREDIENTS:
    Glutamine AKG 2g, 2.12g

    Argine AKG 2g, 2.12g

So I don't see where the inconsistancy is. the serving size is 3 scoops (as oppose to 1 scoop as with protein).
The reason for the high level of sugars is that RAM is designed as a complete post workout shake. Post workout you should be looking to get simple sugars into your system to help get the nutrients into your body as quickly as possible and as far as i know the optium rate is a ratio of 2:1 carbs:protein ratio which RAM has. So if I was having a post workout shake with proiten I would generally either have some glucose with the shake or some fruit for sugars however with RAM i don't have to take these and it takes the guess work out of the ratios (or the time in actually measuring). By the way I am slightly out of it after a weekend of hard drinking so I mightn't have answered you actual question if so tell me

In relation to the other mistake that seemed to be a mistake on a small batch of the 2lb vanilla tubs, as only myself and jon had one of the tubs. So ye it was a mistake but only a small one and I am sure other brands have made similar mistakes on some of their products, also it could of been a mistake by the printers and not nut-x

Easy to calculate sure, but thats not my issue, the problem this poses to me is a trust thing, does this indicate a quality issue with this brand?

Hi Dexter, I work for Nutrition X. We out source all of our label design and print. You are right that there was a mistake on the serving size of RAM. The information on the 100g panel is correct. Could you please PM me with the shop name and address where you saw the product as we are currently uplifting this stock.
I can assure you that the product in the tub is of 100% quality. We test all the ingredients entering our premises and every batch of product manufactured is also tested. There has never been even the slightest question over the quality of our products and there never will be due to the testing we have in place.
We have hired an inhouse graphic designer to do all labels for the future.
We are one of the only companies in the world that offer an open inspection facility for our customers. Basically this means any retailer that stocks our products is welcome to visit our premises and see the quality control for theirselves.
If it would put your mind at rest I could organise a visit for you in the future.
