I'll be there outside Smyths on Jervis street in my Link costume playing everyones favourites ditties on the ocarina. I was going to go as Princess Zelda but the dress wasn't ready in time.*

*May or may not be true

I will be outside Jervis street Smyths. I may tack on some form of boards insignia for identification.

Not actually gonna be in for the opening, but I will be in work the night before and the Friday afternoon, so I can goggle all the Wii goodies the night before I can buy them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 888 ✭✭✭Kanney

Any advice for time I should turn up in Galway when the store opens at 9?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I'll be heading straight from work (finish at 7:30am on the morning of the 8th) to the Square, to pick mine up from Game there as soon as they open. :D

Ok, what multiplayer ds games will be getting played at smyths jervis street?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 311 ✭✭Passport

I'll be at Smyths, Jervis St. for 9 a.m.

Is anyone actually going to bother forming an actual queue? I mean, everyone who turns up for opening is definitely going to get one anyway...

I might turn up at 8:30 for some pre-purchase banter and the like.

I was gonna go to Jervis street but a combination of good/bad luck has left me in Cambridge till sometime this week.

The bad news is I might not be able to afford a Wii. But I think if I trade in my N64 (+3 games), Gamecube (no games) and PSP (2 games *if I can find them*)

I might knock the price down enough for myself.

Now I'm torn to if Metal Gear ops will be worth holding on to my PSP for (there aint no other reason.)

YOur right, MGS looks great, I think it was IGN that said it looks as good and plays as good as MGS Snake Eater... And then theres crisis core....

How much would you get for trading a psp in around? 200 would be good to support wii if i traded in a few games too with the psp

I'll take that N64 from you Blitzkrieg.

    You interested?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

its A N64, one controller, lylat wars, Diddy Kong Racing and Zelda Ocarina of time.

The original plan was to trade it in at my local, buuuuut PM me with an offer and i'll think about

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,518 ✭✭✭matrim

I'll be outside either gamestop in rathmines or gamestop in Dun Laognaire. Which one depends on what time I wake up at. (I live near Rathmines but work in Dun Laoghaire).

What time are people heading down to queue at. I was thinking maybe 30 minutes before hand but not sure if there will be a big queue.

I've also put a preorder on the second set for the 15th in Symths in case I can't get one on the day of launch.

Have it prebooked in Gamestop, i'll just ring the branch the day before as they will then have their stock allocation and I'll find out whether or not I have one, if I do I'll saunter down in the car after the morning rush is over and pick it up, they'll hold a couple of games for me, apparently no shortage of Zelda there either so if you local branch of Smyths or whatever sells out, give Gamestop a shout.

normally I would agree with you, I still have all my Sega consoles and it would require me going homeless before I would even think of selling those.

But my N64 I never got emotionally attached to due to picking it up after its heyday (I picked it up 2 years ago) and never giving the time it deserves. If it wasnt for the virtual console I wouldnt be trading it in at all I love Lylat Wars far too much.

Same applies to my Gamecube, if the Wii wasnt backward compatable I wouldnt trade it in.

And the PSP is a pretty awful system with only Metal Gear ops being the only game I'm interested in. I am using it as an emulator at the moment but its crappy D-pad doesnt make it much better then using my PC as an emulator.

Pressure from wife nearly emasculated console collection but for her last minute change of heart, god that was the 3rd or so most stressful days of my life, or at least ,my 30's so far.
I am starting to feel really stupid at getting this worked up over a games console, i mean I can't help it but getting twitchy a the mention of a Wii, finding I insert it into everyday conversations, it's a bit embarrassing at 35, just a bit.
Partially because I know in a couple of months the device will be nestled into its corner next to the Tv and the 360 and my life will still be rolling on as before, aside from the trip to the physio to treat my Wii-tennis elbow.

Thinks to self : "I think I'll watch TV for awhile incase a Wii add comes on"

Fishing, American Football or indecent exposure. Two of which will get you arrested.
