For snow or other wintry precipitation(hail or sleet).

Post here on the likely hood of snow due to occur (within a 24hrs of a forecast) or snow falling in this country.

Please post links to radar images and satelite views when needed.

This is not a thread for forecasting snow for more than one day out as changes do occur.

Keep your posts on forecasts for cold spells/snaps in the relevant thread [thread=2055034256] here[/thread]

Keep your posts on LRFs[thread=2054978404] here[/thread]

This is again to keep our forum tidy.

    Please stay on topic.

    Thanks:)

Can't speak for DonkeyStyle, but we're having a heavy hail shower in D15 right now.

We've had frequent heavy precipitation throughout the day, this is perhaps the wintriest so far. The odd clap of thunder to boot.

    Oop, sorry about that... D11 / 9
It's gotten worse in the last few minutes... hailstones the size of frozen peas.
Coming down so hard on the attic windows I was afraid they'd crack... that's the worst I've seen in years.

    ....And now it's stopped.

Rain on and off here in Lusk...not a sight of any hail even, which I fear backs up my concerns about snow in this area later :(

I've just got back in from town and by god it's different here, cold and nearly pitch black skies in Dublin to sunny and 8.5C here. I noticed a very large area of hail over Dublin when coming back, the showers seem to be just sitting over Dublin, brilliant mammatus view from here.

Damn cold out today, you'd notice the bite in the wind! Just after having a heavy shower of icy rain/hail here in Carlow town, lasted about 15 mins or so. Must have been sleet, or maybe a bit of snow up on the hills.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 213 ✭✭MetLuver

Large shower just moving into Navan now. Had some sleet earlier today, Must be alot of convective activity around, Met Eireann predicting severe or violent gusts in showers.

Very heavy shower of rain/hail passing overheard, winds are still very strong, they haven't seemed to die off since Thursday. Too dark now to tell if mountains got a dusting of snow though.
