Does nothing for me. I'm sure you need another 7 string Floyd wearing, double humbucking guitar ;)

Man thats a sweet guitar. Was actuly looking at one of em ages ago when i was buying something new, decided against going for a 7 string in the end when my band changed tunings tho, too much hassle

Do you have something to say? Seriously - I heard all is tunes on myspace - they're out of time, he finger picks lazy minor chord progressions for a crappy "demented" clichéd 80's metal sound. And his soloing sounds sloppy and handicapped - like he just learnt his first melodic minor scale and is practicing it over some textbook dorian progression. Just my opinion.

Hey, ease up there - i dont see Karl claiming to be a brilliant guitar player anywhere. Everyone goes through a beginners period, lighten up...

I agree - he's not a brilliant guitar player - he's more of a guitar collector at this stage.

Thanks for your criticisms Larry, but you failed to mention that I hit some pretty sour notes aswell and was totally out of key at times.

Can't really think of a good reason to bother offering that opinion tbh. It just comes across like you're jealous that he owns more guitars than you.

Yeah - you're good. A bit 'early Greg Howe' sounding (progression-wise, but nowhere near the same musical knowledge or versatility) - but it rocks, and is tight enough.

    Nice one, KH! Congrats...:)

(I lost count how many times I said congrats to all you bastards this year...:( )

Edit: By the way, Larry David, you do not sh1t all over someone's "new baby" thread, it's all about respecting your fellow patients around here.

Jesus, If I had a long awaited guitar arrive in a case I couldn't open I'd go mad! Probably try to break it open with my teeth.

I love those cases btw. That plush burgundy velvet stuff...very swanky.

Well, I had been waiting so long for I was starting to freak out, wondering whether or not it got lost. It was such a relief to have it here, I just didn't really care.

Most excellent 7-stringer! Might buy one myself someday if I can stop buying basses. Not much into solid black though....although having said that, my next git will probably be black, as I have too many amber-reddish-naturals already. I'm thinking jet black Rickie bass.

Larry David, we are all, every last one of us, at different stages in our learning and experience. Your assessment of KH's playing leads me to believe that you must be a top-level professional guitarist to write such a scathing review of his playing. Or maybe not....would a real professional be backbiting an amateur player like that?

The really important thing is that KH has fun and is excited about the whole music universe, no matter what level he's at.

Be interesting to find out if YOU can actually play. Put up or shut up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭Quattroste

    Nice one Karl (again) ;)

Larry, can I call you Larry? Personally I don't care if your a top class guitarist or not. Your an asshole! Your post just proves this, and the fact that you're a very jealous individual.

If you want to criticise someones playing then make it constructive, give tips, encourage or **** OFF!

I'm not a boarder for too long now but that is the first time I have seen such boll0cks from any 1 person.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Most of the stuff on my Myspace page is admittedly terrible. If you've read my blog entries on there, you'd see that I state that the music on offer is pretty awful, and I believe there's words to the effect of "I know it's crap, I know it's out of time, but I needed to put some samples up there" so I'd like to think that the few 20 second or so clips I've up there aren't all that representative of my playing. They're months old clips anyway.

Hopefully if I get around to recording something more serious, you may critique away.

Anyway, thanks Rustar. The finish of the K-7 looks very different in person than it does in pictures. It's called "Firespark Blue" but it's almost purple. I really love the colour, looks dead swish. ;)

The guy I got mine from took ridiculously good care of it, I can't find a scratch anywhere, so she's as good as newly purchased, but at a fraction of the cost!
