Hi all,

on wednesday 29th November we will be running a 15 euro freezeout tournament. There will be no reg fee or anything like that so all 15 euro's will be going into the prizepool, the way it should be!

As this is freezeout we will be starting at 4pm sharp, registration will be from 3.30 as usual.

The structure will be 4000 starting chips, with 20 minute blind levels. This should mean the tournament finishes within 5 hours (i.e. by 9pm LATEST). If it appears that the blinds are going to quick we will slow it down to maybe 25 minute blind levels later in the tournament.

The winner of this tournament will receive a.... DIT POKER SOC HOODIE!!!!! wooooo!!!!

We anticipate having about 20 hoodies available that day for sale at 15euro per hoodie (they cost 22 euro so we're practically giving them away!) if anyone is interested.

1. Who is running the event: dit poker soc
2. The purpose of the event: gamble!!!
3. Date and Location of event: wed, 29th Nov, DIT Aungier St, Ground Floor canteen.
4. Registration and Start time of event. reg: 3.30, cards 4pm SHARP
5. Type of Tournament: No limit texas holdem!
6. Cost of entry: €15
7. Cost of registration: none, nothing, zero!
8. % of entry fee/rebuys/top-up going into Prize fund: 100%
9. Any guarenteed prize pool.no
10. Starting Chips: 4,000
11. Blind levels: all standard levels included.
12. Blind timeframes 20 minutes, may be made longer to 25 minutes later in tournament to allow for play.
13. Places being paid and if any prizes are other than cash (free entry to other tournie, merchandice etc): 1st place will get a DIT POKER SOC hoodie
14. Are there going to be dealers - and their level of skill: yes, final table, and top drawer ept standard...
15. Is there a tournament director: yes, democratic process between my ditpoker, shoutman, fiddlesticks, aodea with aodea having final say.
16. How are disputes handled - who has final say. aodea, anto!!

well hear i must issue a very subtle sigh. It is subtle as i dont want people thinking im unlucky with my big hands. In my defence its been kk to jq, kk to 99, and kk to 66 in the last three tournis.

Now as for catching a run of cards friday night home game

aces = 1
kings =2
queens= 1
Jacks =4 lost twice not bad for jacks
tens = must of been bout every 2nd hand
Jack seven = 3 times

all other pairs bout fourty times

ak, aq, aj bout thirty times

worst hand all night maybe a9 and thats pretty darn good

pity it all comes in my home game were i win €70 very upsetting.


however getting onto more important things u reckon its possible Jeff is better at cards than Ldog yet?

so a day of cards in dit. how does that go well ill try give a valid account of the details.

so we start at bout half three me fiddlesticks and two others playing a freezeout for a students week budget of 5euro. As the pressure builds up we get up to eight players notable hands include Shoutman calling my all in with king jack or some sort when i have ace jack also have him covered player gone seat free. while waiting for heads up to finish between me and gordon fiddlesticks loses about 25 euro playing in betwinnes. ok spelling is wrong but the game is sick just ask dani!!!!

so then quick pint and we head over to the best run worst structure in Ireland the Kevin street wednesday tourni. So this is a shoot out tourni. winner from each table goes to the final table. Random computer has me Fiddlesticks, Ditpoker and gordon at the same table. having decided that we will win we go all in every hand with calls such as well there suited and its 75 that is defo worth a fiver. eventually having bought random people extra chips just to get more chips we have 180,000 chips in play. In a pissing contest between me ditpoker fiddlesticks and gordon i win as well expected cause i win stt its what i do. however with us all bored and blind level skipping every level i decide to play every hand.

coming third for 25 euro and a ticket to some ucd student championship is poor return for the amount of money the four of us invested but then i got unlucky and slow rolled by guy who called with ace queen i mean its me fold. i had king three or some sort also pot was over 300k which was bout three big blinds. yuo and thats only in the third or fourth hour of a tourni.

anyhow ditpoker leaves to go cinema while fiddlesticks myself and gordon head to carnival for a pint and a chat. well i must admit we saw a few girls dressed as cowgirls and itt was out for the night. Lots of card talk me getting beaten cause some bird liked me more than she liked her bloke, fiddlesticks covered in blood dosnt know where from and generally madness was the order of the day.

fiddlesticks then went to Jackpot i think.......


so moral of the story money won playing poker 10+ 25+ ticket
money spent on drink 4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4+3+3+3+3+3 and sp fourth drinks were cheaper in break for the border

amd moral other than cards and drink are fun. well even a winning college player has negative ev with drink.

I still cant get over that i had 8/9 buy-ins in an hour and still managed to be up for the day with fiddlesticks contributing most of the cash to me

most fun was... guy to anto's right pushes utg (who was very much on tilt), trippie (QQ) covers and pushes for his "bag o chips" girl calls, other chap calls and fiddlesticks calls blind (with AK) so i'm priced in on my big blind with 75off suit. Other chap to fiddlesticks' right has 77, no worries though as i have 7-clubs, and 4 clubs on the board gives me a quintuple-up and i'm motoring!! that was almost as funny as anto folding AQ preflop with an AQ on the flop... that was great!

EDIT: oh and we were all wearing are WHO IS LUKE ANYWAY? tshirts... they were well worth spending society money!!
