    The only frequencies you can use with out license is:
    26.99Mhz to 27.2Mhz (surface only)
    34.995Mhz to 35.225Mhz (Aircraft only)
    40.66Mhz to 40.7Mhz (surface only)

    Practical considerations:
    UHF is direct line of sight transmission-reception only. So don't try driving around solid objects or funny things may happen while behind them.
    If compared to a 35FM aircraft radio, the 2.4 gigs radio has restricted range.

    It seems to me 2.4 gigs is useful when indoors and at the same time a lot of people want to do RC simultaneously.
