    Hello :)

I took up Muay Thai in the college the last day, lots of pushups, lunges and triceps dips that I'm really not used to doing! Exercising with the weight of my own body has showed me muscles that I never knew existed!

We did some stretching after the class but I'm really stiff now all over. My triceps are really tense to the extent that I can't brush my teeth comfortably! I'm just wondering, am I like this because I'm not used to exercising these muscles or because I didn't stretch properly?

It's been a long time, I'd say. I've started training for the port tunnel run and I'm stiff most everywhere, but especially my quads. Owww!

Aye as slow coach said if you havent been doing this type of exercises for a long time its a no brainer that you will be sore, your muscles have what we call DOM's and its when your muscles are sore because you have damaged them, through rest and good eating your muscles will rebuild and become stronger. id say your muscles will become used to this after a while and you wont feel as sore unless you either A) are given new exercises to do or B) add more resistence to your bodyweight exercises e.g dip belts with weights.

Just keep it up mate, i heard Muay Thai isnt the easiest and is one of the most physically demanding type of martial art. Its hard but you'll reap the benefits!
