well so far all i have is a pic of my sniper.

actually, N.O.I.P was up here a week or so ago. theres a photo floating around on his phone somewhere of all our guns set up on my dinner table.

i haven't used it at all since i bought my Famas. the poor thing is starting to feel neglected. a mate of mine seems quite interested in it. no! not selling a single gun. they're starting to feel like family members (i dont know whether this is sad or frightening...maybe a bit of both)

Well in keeping with my history of perfectly executing even the most complex of plans I have laid out my guns in a well lit area, dug my camera out from under the pile of stuff that lives in on top of it and taken a damn fine photo. Now all i have to do is find a bloody USB cable. How could i possible have lost 4 cables count them 1 2 3 4!!!!!! :eek: my house is tiny somebody is messing with me. I'm blaming DaveMcG he stole my cables then started this post to taunt me, the bully

Some of em look pretty cool alright [ i remember planning to get a tippmann 98 with a barret conversion kit before i heard airsoft became legal .
opsgear has some cool stuff to make em look better.

oh where'd you get all the spring guns MaxForce? were they smuggle jobs from a few years ago when airsoft was a bit on the shady side? i have one of them lying about somewhere. god knows how many times i had to attempt to fix the thing as i couldnt get another

Got some of them back in the days when you could buy them from the UK, the Glock and the USP the others in Spain when on holidays. The p229 has a metal barrel under the slide. I have them displayed in a case.

Well the 1 shop i was told taht does have it is B&Q and the nearest store 4 me is in Athlone [still quite the drive] but ill head up on monday/tuesday hopefully. Miscreant checked the B&Q in dublin and said they have em ,their more expensive then i tought though 30e or so for a litre but still good value as it a litre.

as a matter of interest, check out the Famas barrel length. 488mm. the g3sg1 is 470mm. and thats a pretty damn long rifle.

much greater accuracy. look at the size of the barrel on my mac 11. it just spits bbs everywhere. (and how!).

doesnt do anything to muzzle velocity. sure the barrel is just an extra few hundred mm to direct the bb in the way you want.

Ah.......I knew that , she's firing as it came, in or around 300fps, I havent chrono'ed it yet and that coke can test puts it around the 300 mark.

Eggs are fun, especially when you draw evil dictator faces on them

Nice guns all.Jaysus oisin the barrel on the famas is alot longer then i 1st tought [looks like ya got the exact gun ya wanted, a realy long barrel and an insane rate of fire whilst being very managable and compact] and she looks hot 2 boot
Was considering chroming up a brace of em but thanks to some people shoving sexy pics of mac 11's in my face i might have 2 forgo a 2nd beretta and get a mac11 instead. Still undecided realy, ill see what my beretta's like when i get to fire her [eventually] and then ill know if she'l want a twin or not

are you sure about this point?

A barrell 100mm long could be just as accurate as a barrel 1000mm long. Basic phyics. Once an body is moving in one direction, it takes a another force to change its direction.

Some barrells may be rifeled - putting axial spin on the bb and hence the straighter trajectory. Some may just fit the bb's better - hence the bb may not hit off the sides (very slightly) of the barrel as it leaves.

I could be wrong how ever. Anyway, its off topic.

you were talking about accuracy? what i said there was about muzzle velocity. i was saying that a longer barrel doesn't effect velocity at all.

yes a longer barrel does improve accuracy. it only makes sense.

Once an body is moving in one direction, it takes a another force to change its direction.

the longer the barrel, the less influence outside forces, such as the wind are going to have on the bb on its initial firing. giving it more time to accelerate undisturbed in the direction you want without alteration.

i'm not exactly a maths student, so i dont have a clue about the science behind it. but to me, that makes sense. that would be why people use longer barreled guns when sniping. isnt it?

i have a snub nosed mac 11 and two long barreled rifles. there is a huge difference in accuracy between the barrel lengths. the mac is gas powered, so its actually a good bit more powerful then the Famas. the extremely shot barrel makes it so inaccurate you'd be lucky to hit the side of a barn

I was actually refering to both. The barrell will actually be trying to slow down the projectile due to friction. So there is a point where too long a barrell will render your gun / paintball marker / weapon what ever, useless.
Snipers use a long barrel because there are 'rifled', that is the spiral groves cut into the barrell which catch the bullet, spinning it and making it more stable while travelling through the air.

Anyway, i am no ballistics expert my self. But there is some truth to it.

my dog coughed out a bb the other day. should stick a picture of her up.
i was afraid she might be shooting over 1 joule and be illegal. checked her out with a chronograph. just under thank god.
