TBH, I do get pretty pissed off at someone saying "so and so should be banned" rather than "so and so is [insert offense here]" or as a matter of feedback on policy "I think [offense here] should/should not result in a siteban".

Still, in the more obvious cases like this where anyone would siteban it's hard to grumble.

I never fully understood that. Of course even when one states something as fact (as in this thread title) it is stated as opinion and can be obviously over-ruled by a lofty SMod etc. and thus is not pissing in your territory? But should pissing in your territory itself not be welcomed seeing as you're community members-not-leaders? (Or that's the vibe I pick up off e.g. Thaed when she asserts her right to post porn in AH).

Because when it happens in less clear-cut cases than this it can lead to flame wars, and/or be a form of bullying. The worse cases being when someone in a thread starts "moderating" another user when they were within the charter and on-topic.

As I said, in this case you can't really complain, but in others it becomes problematic in itself.
