    Febreeze, or a shoe deodoriser

my feet sweat alot so i've problems keeping shoes fresh...tried all the usual remedies....none did a whole lot for me....what produced the best results was a good quality insole, and shoe rotation, i never wear the same shoes twice in a row

i've always found when my shoes get to the point of smelling badly, i have to bin them....tried washing machines, fabreeze etc....that sorts them for a couple of days, but they quickly deteriorate again...

God no don't use the washing machine. As a manager in a sports store I'm telling you it's the complete wrong thing to do, especially if the shoes are made of leather in any way. It'll crack the material resulting in tears.

Best thing you can do is buy the little air fresheners that you can leave in the shoes overnight and take out the next morning. They will reduce the smell. Also you can use a damp cloth to clean any dirt/fluff from inside that may be contributing to the smell. Just don't put them near the washing machine.

"odor eater" is good, a powder you put into your shoes. Its antibac and will get rid of any smell.

OP andGryzor: I wonder if your socks are causing your feet to sweat more than they should? I used to wear big thick socks, thinking that they would cushion my feet during running. Not surprisingly my feet sweat a lot then. Now I wear really thins socks because it's the shoes that do the proper cushioning.

putting them in the feezer for the night should give you a day or two or non-smellyness. I tried it a few times and it def worked. Just make sure to thaw the shoe out first, cold feet aint fun, brrrr :D

Put some cat litter in a sock and leave it in the shoes for a couple of days,it should absorb the stench.Likewise activated charcoal should do the trick.
