Hi, mate asked me if Sportsco gym was any good . Haven't been (swam in it years ago but never saw the gym). Anyone here use it, have any comments? Is it swampped at peak times, good equipment, instructors etc?

    Thanks.

Its not a bad gym at all. It's nearly always quiet so you rarely have to que for machines. The staff are friendly and helpful and would have no problem helping you if you ask. I've done a variety of workouts and the requried equipment was always there. There's no Olympic bench only a smith machine and there could be more dumbells. I don't know how many public memberships they have though..can't think of anything else.

I used to work there about 2 years ago and the place had some really great staff. The instructors knew what they were doing and each seemed to have his or her own specialty.

Not sure if the equipment has changed but they had no free barbells. Most of their machines are not so great. But the have a really good calf raise, lying squat and assisted pull up machine.

Overall its a really nice gym, but if you are serious into the weight lifting, try somewhere else as Sportsco is mostly Yuppie.
