    Hello,

I was hoping someone might know of a good shoe to train for the womens mini marathon in June. I am just getting back into fitness and running now that the kids are older thought I'd try and get my figure back:D

The last pair I had were Nike and I think they could be a bit old as when I tried running in them they seemed very hard under foot.

Not sure If I'm posting this in the right forum.

Congratulations on deciding to do some running again.

If you are going to do a lot of running then you need running shoes not some random pair of cross trainers. Have a read of
    http://www.runningwarehouse.com/LearningCenter/FootAnalysis.html
and then go to a running shop to see what they recommend.

I'd recommend Amphibian King in Bray. They're the only store in the republic that does proper gait analysis as far as I know.

If you are in Cork you can visit John Buckley Sports. A friend was in recently and got good advice for her flat feet.
I got a pair of 2006 Nike Pegasus (I know from gait analysis a while back that I am a neutral pronator).
Also, you can get a special internet price if you order by email or fax.

Yah depending on where you are based the suggestions above cover it.
Have been out to http://www.amphibianking.ie/ and find it very professional and friendly.

A proper pair of shoes makes a world of difference.

Agree ... go to Damien in Amphibian King in Bray and he'll get you sorted. The gait analysis can save you money and injury down-time in the medium term.
