    Hey,

Another Workout thread, started training again recently on my 3rd week now and my routine is as follows.

    Twice a week
5min warm up on the threadmill lvl 7
    10Min Acrtrainer RPMS 125
10Min Rower (This is tough) lvl 5, 26 strokes per min
5 Min cool down on a bike

15x3 Reps with chest, legs, 2 x arm machines (Sorry dont remember exact names)

Then once a week I do a Spinning class

Im about 6foot and weight about 13.5 stone

For breakfast I have 3 weetabix and coffee latte, lunch soup + 3 slices of bread (Cambridges) and dinner I have a stir fry just vegatables.

I'm looking to build up my general fitness levels and get rid of the old beer belly, should I change anything or am I at a good starting point?

Im also a little worried I dont really eat meat during the week, I'm not a vegaterian I just don't bother cooking it, will that affect me. I've also considered going to a nuitrionist so they could work out my daily intake so I could reduce the amount of calories I take in, would that be a good idea?

You should do the weights before the cardio. I would aim for 8-12 reps, 3 sets with about 6-7 exercises. Squats, deadlifts, military press, tricep extension, bench press, bicep curl, shrugs, calf raises.

Weights are great for losing fat (I will not say "lose weight" as you can gain muscle at the same rate as losing fat)

No need for a nutritionist! get a small digital scales, a calculator and learn how to read the packages for yourself (scales and calculator will cost less than a visit!). I am sure people could recommend books or links on diets and calorie counting. It is very easy to do, most peoples problems are portion control. Aim for 6 equally calorie sized meals each day, spaced out evenly. This way you never get too full, never go hungry, and can resist snacking since your next meal is never long away.

Protein shakes will help with the muscle gain and fat loss, it will also compensate for the lack of meat/protein in your diet.

    Thanks rubadub,

Ill try this Tomorrow and see how it works out, if I can still do the Cardio after.

I will take your advice and get a scales\calculator and try and keep a more accutare note of what exactly im eating.

Could you tell me a little more about these please, I've seen the Gym plastered with advertisments for them, telling me I can become some sort of super fit Arnie type but I just disregarded them as more for actual proper BBs than regular folk (if you get my meaning).

Do alot of people take these shakes? are they not like cheating, quick gains with quick losses sort of thing, I really don't have a clue!
