    Hey everyone,

Knew to this board. This section caught my eye. Now i am approx 10stone and im size 5.2 I am a little over shape particulary around my hips, tummy, thighs, bum, arms well i guess everywhere. Im very unfit, anytime i walk anywhere doesnt have to be fast paced i get terrible pains in my ankles and it feels like i cant walk anymore, the pain is extremely sore, but when i stand still for awhile the pain goes. Im very bad for been out of breath, even doing houshold chores now i seem to pant. I badly need to get back into shape, i used to be a size 6, now i have doubled that.

Before i get into any diet or food intake, i was just wondering for a daily excercise program would this be sufficient enough for me to start losing weight and toning up etc.

    Mon - Fri
8am: Walk from house into city centre - this should take me around 45mins. (4-5miles)

8pm: Jumping on mini trampoline for approx 30 mins (saw this on You Are What you Eat that if you jump up and down for almost an hour you can lose up to 800cals) I would only do it for 30mins starting off as i would be still very unfit and could not last the hour.

Not sure yet about the weekends. If i did this much excercise a week, would i still need to tone up various parts of the body. I cant afford going to gym right now.
Also I have big muscle legs how can i get nice toned thin legs. I also have bad circulation that shows my veins esp when im cold?.

    Any tips or suggestions welcome.

I would say go and see a doctor about the ankles, that is not right. Are you wearing properly fitted running shoes while walking? Maybe you are trampolining incorrectly and damaging your ankles

This would be an excellent way to make physical activity part of your everyday lifestyle. As rubadub said, have the ankles looked at - it could be as simple as ill fitting shoes.

The DTO Journey Planner can suggest a walking route (and estimate calories burned). The route might be different from one you'd drive/cycle/bus. If you happen to live along one of the canals in Dublin, walking beside them can be relaxing and, during the spring, you often get to see the swans and their new born cygnets, or ducks and ducklings.

Fair play for making a lifestyle change. Now you can look down on others :p

I think it will take a lot longer, 5mph is a pretty fast walking, normal walking is 3-3.5mph. Try it on a saturday or sunday and time yourself. Dont want you turning up to work 1 hour late sweating like a dog!
I cycle 4.5miles, takes about 20mins now (up to 60mins when I was unfit and had to get off and walk in places). I walk the 4.5miles in about 1hr 15min, and that is walking fairly fast.

I would consider cycling, it will probably take 30mins each way, so is 1hr each day.
