Guess the film

Inspired by that great puzzle over on the puzzle forum (involving the hidden movies in the painting)....

This could be quite fun. Basically, each person attaches a photo that they took themselves and it should give a clue to a movie. It can be cryptic or anything really, but must be solvable and not impossible...

I'll get the ball rolling. (And I have a feeling it won't roll that far). I'm not going to say anything about this picture (taken on the phone) but I think it's fairly easy.

    Brokeback Mountain?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Nope. This one is not that cryptic. I'll give clues if needed along the way, but if you look hard enough at the pic, and have seen the film in question (most people have) then it will come to ya.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

    Nope.

I don't want to give another clue cause I know somebody will click it. Remember, this one is not cryptic. Look away from the picture, look back at it, and see if you recognise anything from a movie you may have seen (in the 80s) Ok i gave another clue...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Little Women (you may proceed with your flaming) ?

EDIT : Just thought there - could it be Valley of the dolls ? Seems more likely that little women.

Valley of the Dolls is the right decade anyway.

    No. No... that's right.

Remember the scene where she is attacked by evil dolls? It was also vaguely arousing as they ripped into her clothes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

haha...I have to admit, that scene slipped my mind. It was more the clues that helped me. Damn it. Good one though.

Duran Duran are named after the character Durand Durand who was played by Milo O'Shea.

    Is it Evil Dead, Pighead?

Yes very good. Was thinking of Evil Dead 2 but I think the evil hand could be in the 1st one as well. Have a feeling Monkeyfudge is gonna be a tough nut to crack!

Interesting bout Duran Duran. Never realised they were named after that character. Did they have a song called Barbarella as well?

No, I was wrong... It was Evil Dead 2.... it's a completely different movie with completely different Evil Dead.

    Some info on Duran Duran
    wikipedia wrote:
The band Duran Duran takes its name from Dr. Durand Durand (O'Shea), a mad scientist who appears in the film as one of the villains. O'Shea repaid the compliment by appearing (as an older version of Durand Durand) in Arena, the band's 1985 concert film. Some of the band's early appearances were at a nightclub called Barbarella's, in their home town of Birmingham, England. The band continued the homage to its roots with their 1997 US single, "Electric Barbarella" (released in the UK in 1998). The band has continually used sound clips from the film in their songs, most notably 1989's "Burning The Ground" and the remixes for 1990's "Violence Of Summer".
