Im having pain/discomofrt in lower back last few months. Had been doing a lot of core work which may have stressed it , it doesnt feel like a muscular pain and i imagine it feels like a disc rubbing something. it only happens when i move certain ways and sometimes i get pins and needles in my leg(but this could be unconnected)

Question is , who do you go to see for your back? i have heard chiropracters are quacks. should i see a normal chartered physio?

If you like I can take a look at it. I'm an Acupuncturist, Clincial Medic and specialist in Sports Injuries and back problems. I've sorted out a few of the lads here on boards already.

Just so you know the tingling sensation in the leg may very well be connected to your lower back. From a western point of it could be pressure on the sciatic nerve which runs down the leg. From a TCM point of view it would be inflamation of the gall bladder channel. Quite easy to treat. (Assuming that's what it is. I obviously need to see you and palpitate the area to make a proper diagnosis).

Pm and we can talk more about it. :D

They are. Go see a physio.

An osteo visit might be worthwhile. avoid chiros though as they'd have you coming week in week out for ever if they could

Stay away from Chiropractors - money leaching gangsters, the lot of them.

Get it looked at by a good physio.

Def go see a physio. Sounds like you may have a slipped disc atound your lumbar spine which is where the roots are for the sciatic nerve which is the mai nerve supply for the back of your leg.

Might be worth buyig a tens machine to help relieve the pain as it sounds chronic but go to the physio anyway + u can ask about that.

Had odd bit of discomfort/mild pain in lower back for last few months. Since weekend the lower back is continuously sore/uncomfortable but not very painfull. if a move a particular way sometimes i get a more severe pain. Seems like a problem with a disc or something but hopefully its only a muscle problem. Pain killers/anti inflamatories are'nt helping, stretching is'nt helping either. Have'nt been able to go to work as its uncomfortable and its making me feel down in the dumps (as if my spine is being pressed and making me depressed).

Pins and needles down the leg is a sign of sciatica nerve problems radiating from the lumbar (lower) spine.

You probably have a muscle in spasm and a disc out of place. As I said a physio will have aa good idea what it is.

Don't ignore it -- half the country's going around with bad backs!
