Alternative to cheese?

I've heard/read multiple negative comments about dairy. I sneeze a lot and my nose is very frequently blocked, though I don't have a cold. While I only consume a small amount of dairy each day (in my 1 cuppa tea and in my cereal) I did try soy milk for a few weeks without any change.

I often each about 60g of cheddar cheese after my 40min cycle to/from work as a way to get protein (25% protein; I realise that is has 30% fat). I'm not committed enough exercise-wise to buy whey.

I'm curious if there is an alternative to cheese that I could try.

chicken, beef, eggs, nuts, protein shake etc etc, (you mighn't be committed enough to buy whey but it would probably work out cheaper then buying all the cheese)

Not sure why you think dairy is causing your nose to be blocked? Dairy can cause the air passage to become a little restricted due to the sticky structure of casein, thats why asthmatics try to steer clear of it. A drop of milk in your tea won't cause your nose to block, unless your drinking it with your nostrils :D

As was stated above there are better sources of protein that are not as high in fat!

Instead of doing one of those sessions where you eliminate loads of stuff from your diet and slowly reintroduce stuff to see what you might be allergic to, I figured I'd try replace different items in my diet.
I have mild hay fever and did have asthma in my early teens.

I'll look at the suggested protein sources. Thanks.

My brother used to suffer fom very severe episodes of sneezing from hay fever (to the point of bringing him into A&E!). Following the doctor's advice he stopped having milk and it improved A LOT!!
