I have a 24 hour pass so will probably play the Fitz EOM unless there's anything extra cool going on that I should know about?

Yeh, I think I'll make my first appearance at this game tonight, sounds like a big field is planning to play it and I'm a bit flush after last nite, so will give it a go if I can keep myself awake for it.

took down the 20k on tribece last night for nearly 6k, had a nice few cashs this week plus have my ticket for the EPT on Pokerstars on Saturday and my ticket for 2500 buyin on Ladbrokes for Sunday. So I'm hoping this will be one of my best weeks online in agessssss....lol

As per heads up, the standard is not that high and if you play the same structure as we did, you need to get busy when the blinds get bigger ie around the 200/400 mark, just play a solid game and you'll take it down. Try to use position when raising and if you see weakness or have any of the flop, take it. I also found if the player flat called, firing a 2nd bullit would usually get him to laydown the hand. But try to keep the pots small until you have a hand and if he starts raising a lot early, let him take them until your in a position to re-raise, but you know all this and are well able for this game.

gl with it Smurph, I'm sure it will be a great weekend....

I like the 38 freeze out or the 25 rebuy, cant be bother with anything less as you have to beat to many players to win a ticket and if you get to the top 5 in that field, you usually get a ticket. The only problem is, if you fail 3 or 4 times, it's nearly cheaper to buy a bloody ticket in the first place and you can waste a lot of time winning a 475 ticket for 38, as if that was a cash mtt, you would earn around 1200-1500!

can anybody tell me starting stack for EOM game in fitz? assume its 30 min levels with c6k? anybody confirm pls?

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,864 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

It is only 5k starting, and 3x20 min and the rest 25 min. It has changed lately from all 20 mins, to all 30 mins, to this halfway house. It could do with an overhaul imho.

I am going to the pub incidentally, the first time I won't be playing in this for quite a while.

Tall chap wearing the cheapest of white shirts + tie. I'm eager to meet the silver-tongued blogger that calls himself Stuntman. I'm heading in now for some crapshoot satellite action.

Holy **** smurph final tabling this again! She is some player, always there at the end. Hopefully she takes it down.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,720 ✭✭✭El Stuntman

you'll just have to buy in for Singapore Spectre!!

I kindly exited in 10th as I heard there was an old espisode of Minder on UK Gold at 3.30am....

wp Smurph, you final-tabling machine...hope you took this down (you deserved to for enduring the ear-bashing you were getting from your left!!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,070 ✭✭✭Ollieboy

Hope Smurph took this down, I went out in 11th, was shortstack most of the night and had to bluff and steal to get that far, I dont remember getting to manay hands, but thats poker.

Just a point, I was very disappoint with the standard of play at this and the structure of the event, it became a crapshoot very quickly and needs to be revised if they want it to be a worthwhile monthly event.

WP Smurph, you were playing storming poker when you were sitting on my table both times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,751 ✭✭✭BigCityBanker

Sick of playing 3 tables of 7 I kindly exited in 21st so as to create two tables of 10. I have never been so card dead over the space of 5 hours for a long long time. My minimum stack at any stage was 4k and my max was 8.2k - when i got it in - they folded (luckily as i hadnt legitimate cards), when i had cards they folded also. Waking up to A 10 in the BB (An A ffs - I was begining to think they didnt exist) i lashed my monster stack of 8k across the line only to run into AK of another short stacked player on a dead board. cest la vie.

    .

totally agree; I was in a similar position all night and after we hit the 200/400 level was reduced to basic "push or fold" pre-flop (which about suits my skill level but there you go)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,751 ✭✭✭BigCityBanker

oh yeah - who was the guy c.40 - with the red hair and the sunglasses? Had a monster stack and made it much bigger when his QQ held against AK. Tell me he he was in the top 3? He was playing well and was careful not to act the cnut with a large stack.

he was still the CL on our table when the FT formed and was generally playing well and picking good spots

I lost some respect for him though when he called my 4BB push from the SB with QT sooted :)

and then rivered a ten

to take down my 92 offsuit and knock me out :p

I don't know his name. He played okay but in fairness, he was on the receiving end of donations from all angles last night. From the word go he had a monster stack, I think he knocked out two players in level 1. When it got down to 3 tables, Teddy made a ridiculous play, your man raised to 3K in EP when blinds were 500/1000, Teddy pushed for about 28K with AK and was called by QQ. Teddy didn't hit and was sent to he rail. He was never in shortstack territory, he flopped a straight against top two pair on the FT and got AI against a another big stack, which really cemented his position as chip leader. This was after dishing out a horrible beat to the tighty (with decent stack) with his KJ Vs AK all-in preflop.

    Jesus....

I had BigCityBanker and El Stuntman at my table and I didnt know it......

    Knew Spectre....

I was in seat 2 with the long sleeve black TSirt and the iPod.

The red hair guy with the massive stack (that teddy donated to) was Charlie Harvey I believe.

I bubbled when I took a hit for most of my chips with KK v 77 of BobB...I was quite literally 'Bobbed'.

Dying to know if Smurph won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,751 ✭✭✭BigCityBanker

that would mean that El Stuntman and Spectre were sitting side by side rubbing shoulders for the best part of an hour  I was clearly dead money from the outset - I should have got it all in early in the night and went home for a good kip..

those damn 3's - ffs at one stage i folded 10 3 - flop came 3 3 10.. i went all in on 3 6 at one stage and took down my blinds (u just have to believe that you are ahead) - after that 10 3 hand i proclaimed i was feeling a bit tilty - and pushed all in UTG for c7k after looking down at A Q and no fooker called - that was by far my best bit of pre emptive speech play of the night and nobody wanted a piece of it.

BCB, there was some dude between me and Spectre (just to allow him free rein to steal my Big Blind). I was the perpetually shortstacked guy smelling of rum and coke who kept pushing on your BB!

YEP SIR THE BEERS ARE ON ME AT THE AIRPORT.......YEPEE

Myself and Charlie Harvey Split it for a cool €5,500 each (plus €500 for dealer) yepee. I knocked Paul (grey haired dealer) out in 3rd and Charlie quite kindly offered a deal.

Himself and Paul Cryne were serious chip leaders when we got down to four. Then Paul raised and Charlie moved all in, Paul called like a shot with 88. Seemed a bit strange considering Paul (Dealer) only had 2BBlinds left. Anyway Charlie won when he got an Ace on the Turn to match his AK Sooooteed.

Charlie then doubled up Paul 3 - 4 times before I knocked paul out with AJ V 66 and my 66 held up.

Felt I played well, decided to pick my spots and get a bit more aggressive. Easy to do when you have chips.

We got down to 4 very quickly at the final table and then 4th and 3rd place took over hour and half.

Anyway over the moon, and was delighted Charlie suggested a split cause I had the concentration of a flea at that stage. Great representation by boards members.

Met Rooney Dives who was at my table before the break, I think he'll remember me. I raised to 650 with 55 in MP, he smooth calls with AQ offsuit. Flop is 5, Q 2. Now I a cunning plan last sunday to play a set cute on the flop (check re-raise but the player checked, turn put 3 spades on board I bet he calls and yes the river another spade to give him the nuts), so I bet out 1.5K agressively, he calls. Turn is a 2 I bet 3K he calls, River was 10, I went all in, he called. I believe he had to call really because my set was very well hidden. I knocked him out shortly after the break. He is a nice guy, who needs to just relax a bit, in fact I think we all need to relax and have a few beers and a Boards game, (oh yeah thats next weekend).

Now im off to pack my Ski Jacket for the trip to "Sunny Scarborogh". Martin the jammy Ba*tard is whistling away walking around with his split of the winnings, I think the Fitz will see him a lot over the weekend.

Ja*sus I could give Ronan a run for his money with the League Table leader board. LMAO:cool:

Dave, I hope you don't think I was laughing at you, I had that semi hysterical Im going to kill bob laugh. 3 tables I got moved to he was beside me. I thought you were going to kill him when he starts the "I hat KK's speech and I threw them away in Vegas you know.

After you went I got him, im on the SB an he's on the BB , board reads 5, 6 ,9,10 and I have 3 7 offsuit. I check, Bob bets minimun 2K and I have a gut shot draw, so call. River is a beautiful 4 to give me straight, so I bet 4K.

Well he himmmms and haaaa's eventually mucks mumbling that he had 2 pair. Then the comment, "Your a luckier player than I am, certainly not a better player but a luckier player". I smiled and said "Did you not know Bob you've to make you own luck".

Very well played Smurph and I'm delight for you, I felt you had a good chance of winnng from the time you first sat at my table and you played that set very well against poor olde Rooney.

I also told him about the boards game next week, so hopefully he'll come and amend a few bridges and get himself re-instated on this forum, he's a very good player and if he can control himself, I would love to see him back on here.

Smurph, I nearly called you that time when you raise me on the flop, if I had and my cards had held up, I'm sure it would have been a different night for me, but you bet it well and made me make a big decision for all my chips.

Actually I never thought of taking the Singapore Ticket at all. Long way to go and get knocked early in a Tournament. Anyway there is alot of big tournaments going on over the next few months in Ireland that are tempting.

Actually went to the Green Joker Poker €250 game yesterday and yes you guessed it Big Bad Bob was on my table, and the battery was gone on my ipod, oh the trauma of it. He was still there when i left, it was down to 11 and 9 got paid, hope he made the money.

LMAO:p :p , were you in Drogheda yesterday? I had a cunning plan with K10 offsuit and he called, ah well.... went and played the round of each game. I was actually doing well until I raised to €25 with KK, re raised by "FlushDraw" from boards to €50, i called. Flop is queen High I bet, he re-raised, so my head put him on AQ so I called, but nop he flicks over QQ for set. that didn't go to well (well done flush draw:rolleyes: , good hand).

It was hard to fold the Kings, even though i had a gut feeling i was behind.

Anyhow Rounders123 you rat you, maybe I'll meet you at the Boards game on Saturday.
