vwin prominence?- is this genetic or something? I'd like my veins in my arms to be more prominent, or is what you see in mens health just airbrushing??? any ideas?

Yeah, Vascularity is really a genetic thing. Skin thickness, adipose deposites and just the make up of your system will all play a roll.

It's kind of a "you have it or you don't" thing.

Low body fat is also a factor.... Get down under 12%-ish at least.

    cheers guys,
okay, so my BF is at 12%, got it tested the other day, would more cardio influence vascularity?? tbh, its just the biceps-veins, they look class, i was wondering how to ''improve vascularity'' if thats the correct phrase?!

nice! Im not a junkie by the way!!! lol! I always wondered if a lot of airbrushing went on in mags like mens health or others, like are those physique's actually attainable?
i've stuck to a routine for the past couple of weeks, seriously committed now than i was before as i couldn't devote the time to the gym. but pleased with my gains and progress so far. im a very long time reader, this forum and you guys are unreal for weeding out the myths from fitness and dispensing good, practical advice. so from a pleased, progressing fitness enthusiast,
    thanks!

any other comments welcome on vascular appearance.

    cheers,
    ag.

as some of the others have said, its often just down to genetics, but most guys (and some girls) will get it relatively easily once they get sub 10% body fat (around <15% for girls). But as well, a lot of the guys you see in the magazines will have primed themselves coming up to a photo shoot- going through a water depletion regime to get rid of subcut water and basically dehydrate themselves.

Cardio will help to the extent that it'll help you lose fat, and you'll probably find your veins bulging that bit more towards the end of a cardio session when you're naturally dehydrated from working out. It'll also happen when you lift as the blood flow increases in your veins to give you a 'pump'
