Ok, so I am 90% of the time a Ready brek man. I used to eat porridge with raisans but Ready brek with raisins is so much tastier.

How much better nutritionally is Porridge over Ready brek ?

Read the ingrediant list on your ReadyBrek box..... sugar, salt???

That's what makes it tasty! ;)

Porridge would be a purer version I suppose, less processed etc. But RB still a decent brekkie compared to something like Crunchy Nut Cornflakes or Sugarpuffs.

Always read labels. odlums porridge has more fibre than flanhavans.

Tesco and uncle bens have far more fibre in their brown rice than roma.

D'oh! Shoulda done that really. So <0.10g Sodium per 100g of Ready Brek. Thats ok I guess. Carbs of which Sugar 1.0g per 100g.

Flahavans Organic Porridge. Carbs of which Sugar 1.2g. Trace of Sodium.

    Fibre...Ready Brek has more !!! 7.9g to 6.1g !!

Yes, but that is per 100g. weight.
Get the same volume of oats to ReadyBrek and weigh each. RB will be a lot heavier so therefor you would have to eat a lot more of it to get the equivelant fibre thus eating extra salt and "carbs of which sugar".

But 100g is 100g grams. A volume comparison is a bit unrealistic.

yes but do you eat the same weight in each, is what he is getting at, so you may eat 100g of porridge if you where having it for breakfast but 150g of ready brek

Well sure a 'full' bowl of ready brek is normal but I wouldn't eat a 'full' bowl of porridge. But thats not the point (is there one :) ?)

Sure I might eat more (volume) Ready Brek (near full bowl minus milk) compared to porridge (half bowl minus milk) but then they probably weigh the same at that and that makes the nutrition values per 100g the only thing worth comparing.

    Brian.
