Its a pity, though, most of the storylines from the UK comic that Marvel produced would make pretty good movies.

The same can be said for nearly all comic translations to the big screen. What I don't understand is why Hollywood has to rewrite the story. There's so much there already that would be perfect for the big screen. Fans of the series would love to see their favorite graphic novels adapted (if they are done well) and casual movie goers would would be amazed at the great stories that "hollywood" can come up with.... win win if you ask me.

i actually meant that comment in terms of a direct to video translation not a big screen presentation like what marvel did with "ultimate avengers" only not as crap (in fairness they did quite well with the cap versus alien nazis bit at the beginning) that way you could release em once a year and keep all the geeky goodness and gratuitous violence. bar V for vendetta i dont think ive seen a good comic to film translation (as in done faithfully to a storyline and not just nicking the concept ala xmen)

i see shia's bitching on the net on how he had such a hard time on the movie and he's only doing it to get the creditability to do art type movies. i dont know maybe he's being quoted out of context but the guys comming off as a twat. that said he's signed up to do the next 2 should the movie succeed

word i heard is its meant to be out on thanksgiving which should make it this thursday cause thanksgiving is meant to fall on the fourth thursday of november.

that said the official notice said it would be the holiday season so technically that could mean christmas. far as i know bay is reluctant to let us see the final forms cause he's afraid of an overkill promotion ala king kong so i wouldnt hold out much hop for seeing robot modes. still he might back down, particularly if he thinks the public thinks its a cover up for crap robot modes so we'll have to wait and see

I totally agree,some of Furmans stories with Seniors artwork straight to DVD would be excellent. Even the Dreamworks stuff would be great.

That link with some of the live action footage shows some of what I think Mr. Bay is good at. All action car chases. I hope that he doesnt take up most of the action in the movie with chase scenes, more of the 'bots please.

i say scorpinok for 3 reasons.

1. His face is very insect scorpion like (if it is his face and not his ass.)

2. We already have confirmed that Scorpinok goes on a rampage across a middle eastern US base.

3. We seem to able to see multiple smaller limbs ala scorpion legs at the bottom of the image.

yup its scorponok and don murphy is pissed he's already talking about sending in the suits having got in contact with the studio. apparently the story is someone in the FX team showed his mate some stills and that bloke took the pics with his phone.

in fairness its a good match to the toy/mock up that was floating about a few months ago so i guess we really should be worrying about starscreams look now:( that said he's nice a big, bigger than i thought he'd be so it bodes well for the rest of the TFs . at least in the stature department.

anyone got any news on the trailer yet? i thought it was meant to be out at thanksgiving!

on the don murphy site theres pics of robot mode ratchet. still in the same style as prime only not as recognaisable, not that bad though although i keep thinking of "halo" for some reason.

part two is a tentative release date of the next trailer, dec 22. christ knows when we'll see it this side of the atlantic in theatres but you can bet your ass it'll be up on youtube the day its released. failing that apple traileres will probably have it. have fun guys

Trailer gives alot more away than i expected, prime makes an appearance although i didnt see megatron in robot form (i think)

looks like a michael bay film, but since it's transformers, and michael bay has only ever had one film not do well in the box office, even if this is a stinker, they'll probably make another one with a good director
