How did anybody do? I came in at 1:43. Expected to do a little better but that time is fine for me. I'll use the occassional rain as my excuse....

I did it in just under 1:24. Im happy enough with that as I would like to try and complete the full marathon at the end of October in under 3 hours

I got 1:53 but that was more of a test to check that I was still able to get that far as I'd not done any running for many years until recently so was going delibrately slowly. Now I know that I can again the next one will be faster again.

Man even if it was in Dublin it would be way to early for me!

Well if you want a race you can enter I got a flier about a 5k fun run in the half-marathon goody bag. Something like Dec 3rd or 4th in the Phoenix Park. It was christmas themed :) If you're interested I'll look it up when I get home.

There was a 10k in the park also, the week after I think, that also looked as if it 'required' you to wear a santa hat. That flyer didn't seem to have any entry details on it though for some reason.

Came in at 1hr 33 also - not sure of exact times. I am sure they will be available soon.

All the best to those doing marathon - mine is New York in november

I heard there was a run through the Dublin Port Tunnel coming up. Date has yet to be announced. It will be on the week before the tunnel opens to vehicular traffic apparantly. The distance of the run is 7 miles. Will be keeping an eye out for that. Those runs in December might be just the thing to get me running in the winter....

The 10k one is on the 17th December and is for aware.ie. There wasn't actually any entry details on the flier though, just the web address and a phone number but I could not find anything on their website about it.

There is the Dublin Simon 5 mile race on Sunday, 8th October 2006 at 2.30pm, starting at the Papal Cross. Entry fee is e20.

I drew out the Jingle Bells 5k route. Zoom out to see the full route. There are a lot of approximations hence it comes out at 4.5km. You pick up your goodie bag from Donore Harriers just outside the Chapelizod gate of the Phoenix Park. Cruelly, the race ends with an uphill climb.
