Weight Training after being Sick

    Hey,

I was looking for some advice on this. I've been sick for the last 3 weeks, some serious food poisoning from a trip abroad in Africa. Getting better now (After 3 doctors) and I'm looking to make a good start at my recovery.

I used to weigh a healthy lean 73-74KG fairly toned. I'm usually very active doing strenuous activities 4-5 days a week as much as 4 hours a day. Kept me well in shape over the summer. This was mainly non cardio workout and all involving upper body strength, but I was fit non the less.

    Now I'm a wreck.

I lost roughly 10KG in weight in that time including a decent amount of muscle, basically I'm very thin now and I'm looking to put it back on. I'd like to use this as a clean sheet to maybe develop a little bit more muscle mass and strength, mainly upper body.

Would you guys have any idea what I can do to help this out? I have been pondering with the idea of some kind of supplements to help things along the way. But I really have no idea of what I should be taking. Generally during the winter I'd hit the gym 3-4 days a week for 1 1/2 hour stints, mainly weights etc and I want to get the best out of it I possibly can without killing myself.

I'm aware that I don't want to overdo it either and rush putting on the weight again. I'd rather be skinny and toned rather than fat!!

All that boild down to is, I want to gain muscle\weight while remaining toned.

    So what would you recommend.

I'm probably being a bit vague here, so if you need to know more just let me know and I'll tell you.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

    V
