limited access with wireless in LRC?

no https:// websites work!! blackboard doesnt work!! kind of defeats the purpose doesnt it?!?! cant use vodafone text's or webmail, and today, gmail stopped working! is there a proxy i dont know about?? i tried isastudent.itcarlow.ie but it stopped working for me yesterday..
