I spoke to the management in the Sporting Emporium last night.

They got approval for a monthly game on Saturdays with the following structure:

    Buyin: €200+€20 reg

Starting time 4/5 depending on the preference of the boards players. Can everyone post back if they're interested? They've suggested the 7th of October as the first date.

Was talking to Alex about this last night. Definately in. It's going to be a great tourney. Word of warning though - with 45 min levels it may be prudent to start at 2 or plan on the final table being on the next night.

Details don't matter however, I would happily sit there until 8 in the morning for such a tourney. Fair play.

They're looking to accomodate us for this tourney and I'm sure we could start earlier if need be. I told Alex I'd get back to him tonight to let him know if we were going to go ahead with it. Can all interested parties post here so that I can get back to him with rough numbers?

im in, good work ian. as for timing 5 is good, get to watch footy, but they have tvs for updates so its no big deal

I might not paly that date, but in general it is a game that I would be interested in. Luke also said the Fitz would run it if we could guarantee 15, but the Emporium is good too, esp if it is already pretty much organised.

I'm hoping to play the Big Slick game that weekend Ian in Carlow (something to bare in mind for that weekend). However the cross impact wouldn't be huge. Is it the preference to have the game the first weekend of every month?

I'd be interested in an ongoing monthly game. If they can start at 4 I think it would be best. That seems early enough for me in the early days - if it gets popular and the numbers are massive they can always start earlier then.

    Fair play on this.

Well done Ian, suits me. I would rather the earlier start, but its not a big deal.

    Love the structure.

fair play ian, yeh availibility permitting (football wise on the day) id love to play, and def would play it as regular as possible in the long run.

Can they start having free rolls for it? or give entry vouchers from their wed/thur games??

this would entice more players as would create a bit more value/dead money to play against, and also increase numbers in the field.

    5.30 cyprus - ireland on oct 7th...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

Donal, I'd say freerolls etc will all come about based on the interest and feedback from this test run.

€200 for a game with that structure is great value.

Are you free for the 7th?

    Btw how was India?

sounds like a great tourney. not sure about the 7th but work permitting, i'd play this every month.

    sounds like a plan.

play cash games in the SE till 6am
move across to the jackpot till midday.
    lunch in town
play an STT satellite after lunch
play 2 1 handed omaha satellites after bubbling in the STT....rivered both times.

pay the 200 euro into the tournie.

Im interested. Not confirmed but about 85% to attend. The earlier the start time the better.

"Chances of my checking out early?. 85%. 85%-90%"

Probably wont make it in for the game in October but would definitely be interested in any future games. Structure sounds great and would allow lots of play.

Apart from the distinct lack of dead money!!!

I won't make the 7th, but it looks like a great tourney coming into the crappy winter months.

If they pay out some of the weekly tournies top 2 spots cash as credit to an EOM game that would change pretty quickly Lenny. If you build it they will come.

Are u planning on havin this a boards only game, or an open invitation game?

Maybe we could run the game "league based" over the course of a year. 12 games a season and the top 10 receiving points based on finishing positions and totalling up to find who is the boards champion of champions.

Perhaps we could make the reg 30euro and keep 10 of this back for our own kitty to pay out based on league standings.

At a rough guess, say we get an average of 40 a game, thats 400 per month and 4800 for the year would could give an added bonus of, lets say, 2500 for 1st 1500 for 2nd and 800 for 3rd.

Just an idea to keep people interested and to try and keep numbers up. We could work on a points system should we get enough interest.

im sure its an open invitation. A league sounds good, perhaps the winner of the league gets paid into some deep stack, high buy in tourney like ept or something

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

It will have to be kept as an open invitation.

We can start off on the 7th and then consider the various options regarding leagues etc. after that, based on the numbers and how the tourney runs etc.
