We're shortly moving to Dublin and my bf is looking for recommendations for serious gyms in Dublin, perferably on the southside, but we're open to all suggestions. The gym doesn't need to be pretty or shiny and new, just well equipped.

By serious, I mean full weight lifting gear, lots of plates, Olympic bars and squat racks.

I'm gonna have to say Total Fitness in Sandyford. If he has a car then he is sorted, but i will be changing to TF soon and will happily walk the extra distance to get to this gym than i would walk to get to WestWood where i currently train.

Total Fitness is a great gym is he is looking for somewhere to drive him to better himself.

To give him an idea, i currently train in Westwood, and of all the people that i have seen train down there i would be happy to place myself in the top 15 when it comes to strenght.

In Total Fitness in wouldn't make the top 200. If he likes some friendly competition, and seeks inspiration from the efforts of those around him then Total Fitness is the place.

Plus there range of bars, plates and Hammer Strenght machines is excellent.
