This 15k pot just played out at HighRoller (20/40 NL) on Tribeca

    Guess the hands

    UTG+1 min raise to 80
    UTG+2(tommyboy) Calls
    1 more limper
    Button (ROIELMALIAH) makes it 380
    Blinds both fold
    UTG+1 folds
    tommyboy calls

    Flop (850ish) 732r

    tommyboy checks
    ROIEMALIAH bets 700
    tommyboy calls instantly

    Turn (2300ish) 4
    tommyboy again checks
ROIEMALIAH checks after a long pause

    River T (no flush)

tommyboy thinks and pushes for 6k
    ROIEMALIAH instantly calls

he started off at 25c 50c and when he got 1k together he moved to 10/20 NL! he must have gone on some role to stay alive... he's supposedly up over 700k now. he seems like a decent guy.

some good a few $$$ will do them. I always knew this forum had a RTE prime time/heads stuck in sand liberal bias - BUT I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS THIS BAD Without turning this into a politics thread if you help poor people out you are rewarding their lack of success, therby turning evolution on its head and damaging human kinds progress to the stars

I take it you are joking!! (The above is really nasty).
Just in case, could you explain how the biological process of human evolution is dependant on how much money someone has? What gene is the money gene?
Just as well evolution isn't dependant on correct spelling, eh?;)
Btw thx again for the hand analysis in the other thread - it straightened out my thinking!

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that.

As for money, well its one of the best indicators of success. Obv there are other ones but they arent relevant here. If you tend to help those who havent been successfull in the past, ie those that our poor (and especially help them by just handing them money) you are rewarding failure. This means that they have no incentive to be successfull in the future, and also means they are more likely to procreate thereby spreading whatever gene made them poor in the first place.

I accept that there is probably one or two poor people in the world with something to give the human race.

I had a problem a few years ago with the police, MD was Minister for justice at the time (I assume he still is). He lives in ranelagh as did I so I went to see him. He was very helpfull and played a small but not insignificent part in me not going to jail.

thats very interesting, you wouldn't like to elaborate? did any money change hands for this favour or was it something else. i.e how old were you at the time, he strikes me as someone who likes youngish boys

To be honest this doesnt deserve a response, but ill give one anyway. This isnt really a joking matter. As far as I remember he helped my lawyer deal with the Garda Complaints board, I dont really remember the details as it was about 7 years ago.

What an absolute ****** up attitude towards life, you're a nasty piece of work. There are people born into this world with every disadvantage, physical and social handicap possible and you think helping them is rewarding failure??? Whose failure? Theirs? Their parents? Their government's? Get a f**king grip. ur an absolute disgrace, shame on you.

I dont give a toss if im banned again. Work away. Im not the only one to fail to notice you're attempted sarcasm in your posts above. What you said is THE single most pathetic opinion i have ever read in my whole life. Giving to the poor is rewarding failure? No incentive of future success? Nasty piece of opinionated bs. And no i dont want to hear your response either, i've read more than enough of you in this thread already. By your rationale if i give money to Oxfam to help children born with HIV in Uganda im rewarding their failures and giving them no incentive to succeed in life? Give me a fuc*ing break.

I'm not going to get involved in this thread as it's obviously going to be locked as soon as Laf or Muso get up, but I don't think HJ meant those posts the way he would with a Knock Knock Joke, there are lots of other forms of humour, obviously he hit a nerve with you, but just relax...

Well your thinking along the right lines anyway, its important to know that any money you give to charity is used well in a manner that isnt likely to be counter productive.

I would never try and get someone banned.

Since you are clearly asking me for some general life advice (I play the player and not just the cards) I think you should perhaps consult the i-ching. Its an old oriental type of fortune telling. Its value doesnt come from any magical advice or anything, but rather the process itself has inherintly relaxing properties that often help young hot bloods deal with a scary world.

Nothing he wrote in this thread is remotely humorous, be it sarcasm, dry humour, wryness or any other form of humour. Total bs. And it is by no means clear he is even joking he clearly said "partially joking" and most of what he wrote doesnt seem like any sort of humour.

And ur damn ****ing right it struck a chord with me, no way im gonna stand for opinionated bs like that. IMO The extremely poor and disadvantaged in life deserve each and every piece of help they receive; whether you agree or not is irrelevant, no way im letting some cash game player tell me that helping them is rewarding failure. Although obv its hilarious to say so and i have no appreciation of HJ's amazing subtle humour.

    a) shut ur trap b) i understood perfectly his ideology - the type of rationale that believes in walking past the poor guys on O' Connell Bridge without dropping 10c in the belief that 1) it wont be put to good use 2) they dont deserve it and 3) it gives them no incentive to get off their lazy ass and do something about their situation. completely and utterly disagree with the ideology, very shallow, misguided and underappreciative of the overall perspective on life. dont want to listen to condescending comments from you either. enough.

Nic Ryan already basically made this joke, and he did it better. A good rule of thumb is that if you ever use more than 1 exclamation mark per sentance what your saying isnt funny, unless you are nicky o'd, but then he is the only person who can say the word fuktard as well.

A good rule of thumb is also - sentence not sentance, have not of, are not our. Anyway this isn't a spelling lesson and im done with this thread. I got pretty annoyed very quickly by your comments, you seem to have a talent for being obnoxious, condescending and irritating (particularly to me but to others also). i read the posts carefully btw before i posted a reply and satisfied myself that your core points were not in fact jokes or remotely funny. You're entitled to your opinions of course, im entitled to call them bs. Im also more than satisfied that my initial opinions about you were accurate. Btw im not a 'big shot tournament player' im an above average low-to-medium buy-in tournament player online.

Yeah my spelling sucks. Put me on ignore if you cant stand spelling mistakes.

You may of read the posts but I think you were a long way from understanding them, possibly it was because you were enraged (as the tone of your posts would suggest), or maybe there was a deeper problem. Also you seem to have an extremely naieve view on the world. Ie charity is good, helping poor people is good and any view to the contary is not only wrong but evil. This is frankly a childish opinion (in my opinion of course).

I didnt imply you were a big shot tournament player btw, again your comprehension of what I said was flawed.

naive (spelling does suck!!)..... Charity (properly used) is good. Helping poor, sick or disadvantaged people (in the right manner) is good. Just because i have empathy with others and feel strongly about the subject doesnt make it a childish opinion. I'm all for dissenting, well rounded opinions on any subject. If you believe that charity in the western world is corrupt or that the money is not put to good use then fine. If you believe it doesnt reach those its intended for or is abused by the receiving governments/agencies, fine. All valid opinions. What you said was 1 general sweeping statement of BS. helping poor people = rewarding failure and no incentive of future success.
I didnt imply you were a big shot tournament player btw, again your comprehension of what I said was flawed.

Wrong again i understood your sarcasm just fine :) just pointing out my own opinion.

I love the wonderful illusion HJ and Nicky have that they are 100% in contorl of their own lives. Community spirit and helping your fellow man are natural tendencies that stem from an awareness of the fact that we are NEVER completely in control of our destinies. And you are prize fools if you believe that you are.
