Ankle Sprain Injury

About 3 months ago (June 9th to be precise, 1st day of world cup) I sprained my left ankle badly playing football. The pain initially at the time was hurrendous and so much so that I went to A&E that night to get it xrayed. I found out that it was a bad strain but with no broken bones, which was a relief. For about the next 2 weeks it was pretty sore and swollen and bruising occured all over my foot. For the next few weeks after that it did not seem to be much of a problem for me, the pain had gone down to nothing while walking but I noticed a slight twinge when running on a treadmill.
Now its nearly 3 months on and the ankle has started getting sore again, I have only recently become aware that my ankle only has about 75% of the movement that it had before the accident. I was so sore initially that I did not do much of the exercises they recommended. I have started doing them now in the last couple of weeks but the pain is nearly back to the way it was in the first couple of weeks after the injury. Do you think I should see a specialist or is this just the result of my ligament/muscles starting to adapt again?

check out this thread, i recovered from both ankles being injured around the same time, pretty badly, i couldnt play soccer for almost a year.

then post your thoughts questions etc up here!

I cannot stress enough that you need to see a physiotherapist and begin a course of recovery exercises under their advice which will include some of the above depending on your injury.
