Grip problem

Recently invested in some gloves as my hands were getting ripped apart, especially from doing deads. It has helped me to increase my weight but I now have a grip problem on deads and shrugs which is seriously holding me back. I could lift a lot more but I just don't have the grip. After about 8 reps I have to leave the weight down and my forearms are fried. Would straps help here as a short term solution? For the long term which would be better help to strengthen my grip, a captain cruncher or some basic wrist curls? Or any other solutions?

Straps helped me hugely, I can now lift 80kg on a tricep bar with one hand for shrugs. This allows my second hand to hang on to the bar once I get near the end, or to move it into place at the start. I think I can only manage about 55kg without the straps.

I also have the heavy grippers which did help me too.

you mightn't have some of the equipment but plate pinches and hex holds should be no problem
