Back injury playing football - advice needed

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can advice me. My husband was playng football last night. When he came home he said he had hurt his back. It was very sore with not much mobility.

This morning he is unable to move - he can hobble a little but is in a serious amount of pain. He couldn't go to work.

He refuses to go to the doctor or the hospital. He said it is a muscle injury and there is no point in going as there is nothing they can do for him. He thinks he twisted it!

Is he right? Is there anything he can do to help with the pain or to help it to mend quicker.

I would really welcome any advice on this as I have no idea.

    Thanks
    Jen

The simple fact is that this is not a medical board, so we are not really in a position to say one way or the other.

Also, it would be impossible, even for those with the right qualifications that post here, to be able to say correctly without giving an examination.

If your husband will not got a hospital then maybe he will see the sense in going to a sports therapist or physio???

Dismissing something as a muscle injury is all well and good, and he may even be right, but it could still be serious enough to require the professional touch and this may lead to far more comfort in the long run, and a lesser chance of further injury!!

Basically, put your foot down and make him see someone about it!:D
