BT Broadband problem

Just got my broadband running after a nightmare three months, but alas more problems. While surfing I decided to download some drivers for the graphics card using download accelerator, when it got to actually downloading the file the program froze. After closing the program I could not get a web page for the next 2-3 minutes. After this I decided to get on for some online gaming Day of Defeat source, when I tried to join a server the latency was too high, I couldnt join any server on that game. When I exited the game the same thing again the connection froze for a little while. Tried ET same again. I have pinged boards.ie and a few other sites and the pings are always below 29ms, does this problem sound familiar to anyone..can anyone offer some advice??

Dont use download accelerator, dont use any apps like this and do a full system scan for virii and spyware! Its a start!
