    Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to monitor my bandwidth usage using my router (Netgear DG834G). Does anyone have this router?

I popped up on my ISP's radar for using too much bandwidth so Im looking for a way to monitor it. Normally I woud hunt down a piece of software to do this but unforutnately its not just me whos using the connection as there are 4 PC's in the house. I want to be able know how much bandwidth has been used in total and if possible what client is using it. Any ideas?

    Dave

Not possible with most home routers.

There is a trick to enable using SNMP on that router - but it only works with old firmware (which can be buggy)
So you're kinda out of luck... :(

I'd say you should probably go to the broadband forum with this. There's lots of networking heads in there. The only thing that can accurately monitor how much traffic goes through your router, is your router (or something on the far side of it).
