Eirtakon 2007

It's probably time to let you all know about Eirtakon 2, which is being held at Dublin City University in November.

This anime convention will be held in the Hub, DCU's student centre, on DCU campus from Friday the 9th to Sunday the 11th of February.

The cost of entrance;
€9 for a one day pass.
€12 for the entire weekend.
Weekenders will also recieve a con t-shirt, and a goodie bag, if there are any left that is.

Throughout the convention we will have traders of all sorts selling anime DVD's, manga, toys, games, plushies, designer t-shirts and even snacks. Anime cons really can't go ahead without pocky. We'll also be showing anime non-stop throughout the weekend in our various screening rooms. Including some of our personal favourites. Though we'll try not to show series and films that everyone has already seen.

We will also have games provided by DCU's Gamessoc among others. There'll be free for all multiplayer sessions on the PS2 and Gamecube, both head to head fighting games and blasts of Guitar Hero and Donkey Konga. Board games will also be provided.

There will also be a Pub Quiz, at which we are hard at work preparing questions and other rounds. :cool:

Being in the student center there is a Spar, a canteen around the corner and a Bar. Also across the road we have EuroSpar, chippers and pizza delivery to the door.

They exist alright, just not as organised as the forces of DCU

We were forced to move the con foward due to it clashing with another event.

Some traders were reluctant to attend because of this.

And I was there last year...So it was a great turn out? I dunno. There were people there who just sat in the chairs and played chess. Oooh, so anime related.

First of all, I am sorry for leaving it to such a late date to announce this.

Once again, due to mounting complications, EirtaKon has been moved to a later date. While at first it seemed that two weeks would give us enough time to prepare, further issues, such as clashes with other events, have forcecd us to rethink the date of the convention.

EirtaKon will be held from Friday the 9th of February to Sunday the 11th of February. The venue will still be the Hub in DCU.

This will be the last change of date for the con, regardless of further issues.

We apologise for the complications which may arise from this, and we apologise for disappointing everyone. Indeed we were disappointed ourselves.

The organising committee decided that it would be better to have a severely delayed con, than to have a bad con.

If anyone has any questions, please email them to eirtakon@gmail.com or post them below. We will try to answer them as quickly as possible.

Once again I would like to apologise on the behalf of the committee for this late, change of date.

Sorry i missed it, but between work, the six nations and laziness I didnt find myself in eirtakon this weekend. It's a shame, as I was looking forward to it since summer!
