Not sure if this is the correct place to post this... but here goes...

How many calories in and how unhealthy is the following:

White roll normal foot long, no butter no mayo, Cold chicken coleslaw and cheese ?

I would eat 2 per week, usually after work (Supper).

If the rest of your diet is up to scratch it wouldn't be classed as unhealthy, but you could swap white for brown and cut out coleslaw. That said though eating it at night time is not advisable, lots of carbs in the white bread.

I'd say about 450/600 calories in the roll depending on filling.

I love calorie counting, you would be shocked at some calorific values. I like to compare, like say "well instead of that single chocolate biscuit I could have a full marinated chicken breast". A guy in my work was saying he was on "a diet", I saw his lunch, it appears healthy at a glance but he was taking in about 1000kcal in one sitting.
Bread can have large amounts, rolls more so, ft long is not enough, you should weigh it an calculate it.
I am sticking to this 5-6 meals a day and it works great. I aim for 6 meals of 300kcal each, but usually I end up with 5 and some cheats, like milky coffee and a biscuit. 6 meals a day evenly split of even sizes keeps you metabolism going. Also you are less likely to snack since you next meal is only a hour or so away by the time you feel hungry. I reckon the smaller meals mean the stomach shrinks so you are full longer, also it never gets stretched ( my belly never rumbles any more). A few weeks back I went to a resturant had a starter and main course and was actually sore afterwards since I was so full (I cannot stand leaving a 1/2 full plate!), it wasnt a huge meal by any means.

    with 5 meals, mine are usually around 8am, 11, 2, 5, 8,
no big gaps, does away with the usual 1pm and 6pm lunch and dinner times.

Your roll could be up to 800kcal depending on how much cheese and coleslaw you have, and how big the roll is. With a 1/4pounder burger, the roll can have more 1.5 times the caloires of the burger.

Could be though, how long is a piece of string? how wide is a foot of bread!

Could be an elvis sambo, 4000kcal or something.

My trick is to stop eating when you are no longer hungry, it used to be stop eating when the belt starts to strain and you are starting to retch.

www.fitday.com and www.nutritiondata.com are good for calorie counting, careful - they're addictive!
